Paul Pierce, anyone?

JJ drew a lot of attention after a few weaks of him tearing up the league. That is why his assist total improved.

In any case, JJ will never shoot as much as Pierce as long as his main job is to get the ball to Amare. In Boston the offense revolves around Pierce, but in Phoenix it should revolve around Amare.

He may have gotten a lot of attention but apparently became much less effective after Amare returned! Anyway, Pierce has been battle-tested in the playoffs, he co-existed very well with the much more "selfish" player Walker to do so. It's not even a contest. I guess Marion + #7 may also get it done, but Pierce and JJ had some bad words for each other after JJ was traded, so I guess it's better to replace #7 with JJ, if there is a trade.

Pierce is definitely a franchise player in the same class as Iverson, Allen, slightly below TMac, Marbury. Marion plus appendices won't do it.

Ainge is in enough trouble without trading the Celtics ownly proven star.

As a rule, top level players only get traded right before their contract is due to expire (yes, I know Marbury was an exception) or has worn out his welcome. Neither applies to Pierce.

The Celtics faithful would hang Danny Ainge in front of the FleetCenter if he traded away Paul Pierce without returning a superstar at this point. Unless Pierce are really starts making a stink about wanting to be traded I think it's unlikely he goes anywhere. It's an interesting idea though. I do like Pierce's heart.
