Pierce is a great player but the celtics weren't exactly great before Allen and KG got on the team, without KG or Allen this year the celtics probally wouldn't have even made the playoffs.

It won't be long until people "1234get" this album. He writes some funny lines but that's it. Better rappers, alive: Nas, KRS-One, Guru, GZA, RZA, Killah Priest, Immortal Technique, Kool Keith, Tech N9ne, Kanye, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, etc

They don't want me shoppin' or spendin' that hard
Oh my god, is that a black card?!
I turned around and I replied, "Why yes
But I prefer the term, African American Express"

I woke up early in the morning with a new state of mind
A creative way to rhyme, without using 9's and guns

or

My flow, is in the pocket like Wallace
I got the bounce like hydrolics, I can't call it
I got the swerve like alcoholics
My freshman year I was going through hell and problems
'Til I built up the nerve to drop my ass up outta college

You can dislike a person for their attitude/arrogance and whatnot. But you can't use that as a reason for dismissing their obvious talent.

I don't like his giant ego, esp. when he bitched at the award show in which Justice's video rightly beat his. However, he is rather creative and he at least puts some thought into issues beyond himself (e.g. conflict diamonds).

Kanye is a ridiculously bad rapper who makes really good songs. No lyrical skills, but his music just sounds good. He's a great producer hogging all of his beats.

Nas is the best. Illmatic, Stillmatic, Untitled are all amazing.

Guru is overrated.

Paul Pierce sucks. He's a loser just like Tmac, Iverson, Carter and Garnett.

SURPRISE!!! No really, Surprise.
I dunno. Lil Wayne told everyone he is the best rapper alive, and proved it with his latest album.

Didn't Jay Z already claim this..... just wondering.

You know, how many people really knew who paul peirce was before KG, I am not talking about die hard b-ball fan. I am talking you average run of the mill fan.

I really think it is hard to say Kobe is not the best player (and I really do not like him) But the problem is, we don't get to see alot of LeBron on the west coast.

And Who ever said Tim Duncan...... Please.

He claimed it. Retired and then came back with garbage.

Young Carter, go harder, go further, go farther
Is that not why we came?
And if not, then why bother

And I always thought that American Gangster soundtrack was credible. It just didn't have Just Blaze behind every single track.

And just for the record, Pierce is definitely not the best in the world or the NBA. However, he did elevate his game to extraordinary heights during the Finals series. Whether or not he can keep up that level of play this season remains to be seen, but the guy flatout rose to the challenge and exceeded everyone's greatest expectations on the biggest stage of the world against the so called 'best in the NBA'. That has to stand for something.

I don't think anyone who says they are the best in the world really believes it. But I have been known to over-estimate the sense and sensibility of my fellow man (or whatever).

I'm pretty sure every rapper has claimed they are the best at some point ;-)

Jay-Z, the "player," became whooped by Beyonce and releases trash now. His freestyle (?) to A Milli is horrible. Nas owned Jay-Z with The Ether a few years back. Jay-Z probably only had two good albums: The Blueprint and The Black Album.

BTW, I think I've heard Steve Nash references in at least three rap songs. That's pretty funny. That's enough of this thread tangent for me.

I can't even stand Rap or Hip hop what ever. I think that it has gone to crap compared to old school rap. All of the rappers named in this thread are crap, it is not real music, it is crap.

I was just making fun of the fact that this thread turned into a rap thread.
