I can't even stand Rap or Hip hop what ever. I think that it has gone to crap compared to old school rap. All of the rappers named in this thread are crap, it is not real music, it is crap.

I was just making fun of the fact that this thread turned into a rap thread.

Tangent threads seem to be the only ones I enjoy much around here lately. If only I could keep myself from checking the site almost every day.

There is much more sophisticated hip hop now than the "old school" hip hop--just don't expect to hear it on the radio. I would say the radio stuff is definitely at an historic low in quality of both beats and lyrics. Radio generally plays the most mindless stuff in each genre, but especially so in rap. I would say the golden age for hip hop was probably 1995~2005 and for rock was something like 1970~1985.

He claimed it. Retired and then came back with garbage.

I promise Im not singling you out, but you are making some ridiculous claims.. Jay came back with a new flow out of this world and talked about world events after his retirement.. It was a grown folks hip hop album.. One of his best..

In a van...down by the river.
Kobe is a great player, but I just don't see how stating your opinion is going to end the discussion.

For example, Duncan as more rings than Kobe. LeBron got a far weaker team to the finals to the Finals than Kobe did (LeBron averaged more points and more rebounds than Kobe) with only three point shooting favoriing Kobe.

I'm not picking LeBron over Kobe, just suggesting there is basis for discussion.
I agree but neither is putting their statistics side by side and making an evaluation based off that alone Irish.
Stats are what earn and burn contracts and we all know that $$$ does not make a player who he is in terms of talent.

Side by side stats are at best a tool. If you are looking at rebounders and one guy has 0.31 per minute and other has 0.18; you can be pretty sure the first is a better rebounder. If one guy shoots 41% for three and the other shoots 33% for three (with similar attempts), you can be pretty sure the first is the better three point shooter as long are there are no mitigating circumstances.

But when dealing with stuff like scoring, assists, steals, etc. the stats are almost always dependent on the team and teammates. Part of the reason that so many trades fail is that changing environments really effect how effective a guy can be. Isiah never understood that and his team was mess.

I didn't bother reading this whole thread on his ridiculous comments. so i'm probably repeating someone elses line. but, If he's the best player in the world what does that make KG and RA? because the funny thing is Paul Pierce could bearly lead his team to the playoffs before those two arrived. I'd be pretty upset if I were the Big Ticket. because it is argueable that he's the best overall bball playa on that team....actually he is IMHO.

Paul Pierce claim reminds me of a couple of phrases.

Legend in his own mind.

"That's pretty arrogant considering the company you're in." Top Gun
