I don't know what to think about Bol except that he's an oddity. That he scored a lotta points is nice; when a player well over 7' gets only three rebounds, he looks ridiculous. Come on, even Amare Stoudemire could rebound better than that. Oh, well...I always thought Bol was just a very tall guard.

last night felt fake and meaningless because it was - the hooping and hollering - the flexing - and over joyess celebrations - fake fake fake - it meant nothing - it was actually more depressing than soothing considering the night before at least for me

that's what's supposed to happen - it what should've happened all year long against scrubs dot com - whole time im sitting there saying "now you decide to make 3s? now you decide to focus?

Nah, I didn’t take it that way.

And yeah, the games have not been fun this year.

The only game I’m looking forward to right now is the Bulls game, I’m taking my brother-in-law who is from Chicago and we’re going to have a good time being miserable together watching our favorite teams have a “who sucks more?!” competition.
Those are always fun.

Amare was actually a good rebounder, it's just that with his size and athleticism he should have been close to leading the league each year. But yeah, Bol has to rebound much better.

If they did that, then at least we'd understand why they are playing so poorly. Hyperbole doesn't become you.
saying "it's okay and we'll win the next game" over and over is forfeiture - at least in my eyes - apparently that gruesome mindset has been going on for awhile - i think it does help us understand - they never cared to fix it - they put off winning like it was a dentist appointment - something they could get to later - like it was a chore and they were too exhausted (or too good) to put out that kind of effort

LOL come on, how long have you been following the NBA, let alone professional sports? That's how EVERY team reacts after a loss, regardless of if it's NBA or Water Polo.

This board makes it seem like this is the ONLY time in the history of time that a team with high expectations has failed miserably.

name one other sport where a team had the highest payroll in the league - missed the playoffs completely - and didn't have their own draft pick to show for it - this seems like rare waters to me

Bol Bol has been a pleasant surprise. Since Bud wasn't playing him early, it appeared to be a wasted roster spot.

Now, I'm questioning even more coaching decisions made by Bud.

"Highest payroll" doesn't matter. I'm not sure what you want the team to do. You want them to simply quit playing and go home? What's the point, right? They are what they are right now. Sucks for us as fans, but they still have to play the game.

Exactly! I judge his rebounding by the standards he was capable of, not the standards of most players. I therefore consider that we had every right to expect Barkley-esque rebounding from him before he was ruined by injury. Especially since, at the time of his drafting, he basically invited us to hold him to that standard, by publicly saying "I could be the new Charles Barkley."
