The Suns wanting to sign Dragic means almost nothing. Dragic ultimately holds all the cards. Sure, they could choose to keep him and try to convince him to stay in the last part of the season but that's like closing the door after the horse is out of the barn.

I think there is about a 2% chance that Dragic stays past this season and that is basically if he and his agent make a mistake in evaluating what is best for his career. The Suns have abused him and he should leave. And the worst part for the Suns is that they actually got worse because they misunderstood the game and used him so poorly.

Improved the talent by a reasonable margin, had practically no injuries and had Len make tremendous strides. Should have moved up to the mid 50's in wins but instead handed the reigns to Bledsoe and now look to win slightly over 40. Sad, but it doesn't have to be for Dragic. Move on Goran to a team that respects and understands your talent. There's a lot of them out there.

Goran has two opposite values.

We can trade him as a key piece to a playoff team who wants to rent him.

We can trade him to a team which needs to acquire the infamous 'expiring contract'.

The first team probably offers us a first round pick (which will be a playoff pick, so meh)
The second team probably offers us a good first round pick and a mediocre contract we have to eat.

I think that's about what Goran fetches today.

Dragic is a lot better than Rondo.

Wojnarowski is reporting Dragic's agent is meeting with team officials tomorrow. That could be interesting, the Suns plan to resign him but that will be the deciding factor in what, if any, moves are made.

Dragic is not good enough to build a team around him just so that he can flourish.

They are covering all their bases. They are telling Goran that they absolutely want to keep him, while somehow, the rest of the league is getting the message that he can be had for the right price.

That's about the best position Sun mgmt can be in at this point.
