I hope Cleveland is ready for an epic Weeden vs. McCoy QB battle.

Also, my condolences go out to Trent Richardson. He'll likely be in a timeshare with Hardesty by week 3.
:D
I wonder who the sixth round QB will be this year for the Browns, poor guy.

A lot of mexican gangbangers will be really upset if Whiz gets the job, them and all the folks in Cleveland.

I think this actually may be a pretty decent time to get the Browns job. They have some pretty good talent on both sides of the ball, and the Steelers and Ravens are at the end of their runs.

I agree with this. They aren't as bad as they are being portrayed and have new ownership.

Great hire for the Browns if it happens. He will turn that team around and make them relevant again.

If they find Whiz a good QB and don't let him pick, then he would be a good choice for them. Hope they like to draft receivers...

Wisenhunt had no problem managing a run first offense all the way to a Super Bowl in Pittsburgh.

Cleveland Plain Dealer reporting that Ken Whisenhunt interviewed with the Browns today for a 2nd time & has emerged as the leading candidate for their HC position. I hate the Steelers & Ravens, so this would be an ideal landing spot.

Rob Chudziniski was just named Browns head coach per Mortenson on ESPN

If you're Cleveland, do you take the guy who made Derek Anderson a pro-bowler or do you take the guy who made him a scud?

Or not

browns go Chudzinski

Really says something doesn't it? All of these coaching positions opened up and all of these positions are getting filled by offensive guys and none wanted Whisenhunt. Teams took notice of what he did in AZ these last three years.

actually, I was told Whiz turned them down as much as they turned him down. Despite what people think, Whisenhunt is a very respected coach around the league.

So isn't the rumor that Norv Turner is also expected to go to Cleveland? I'd be pretty upset if his first order of business in Cleveland is to hire a high-profile, proven OC.

You don't go in for a second interview to turn it down. I bet they were going after him for the OC.

That happens all the time. That's when you start getting into the money issues and other deeper issues. If all that was discussed the first time, there would be no need for a second interview. The first interview is exploratory, philosophies, and seeing if it's a possible good fit.

I bet if you surveyed the league for favorable opinions of the Cardinals franchise v. favorable opinions of Whisenhunt, Whisenhunt would win easily.

Whisenhunt is in a great spot. He doesn't have to jump at the first job offer that comes along. The Cardinals paid him very well and are going to pay him 5.5 million this year. I'd take that and work on my golf game if I wasn't offered a job I really, really wanted.

Ah, so your guy doesn't get the job, and now you're 'told' he wasn't passed over for the job, but actually didn't want it. Hmm.

Cleveland is the only place that is a backward step for the fired HC of the AZ Cardinals.

:D

LOL.

I kind of think that Cleveland would be an intriguing job. The division is there for the taking--kind of like how the NFC West was when Whis came here. Pittsburgh's defense is in decline, and their offensive line is a mess. Cincinnati can't build anything sustainable and will fire their coach in the next two years, and the Ravens are on the verge of having to re-tool around their aging defense.

People joke about Whis liking to draft WRs, but isn't that exactly what Cleveland has to do? They have the OL, the running back, and (I'd bet) the kind of QB that Whis would be able to work with. They have the pieces on defense to make a quantum leap in the next couple of years.

The Cleveland job is/should be way, way more appealing than the Jacksonville or Buffalo jobs, because the path is clear for almost immediate success.
