I agree with you on most of this but I'm curious why you'd prefer a 3 year deal? Is it just to hedge your bet in case he doesn't improve? I think given his reputation for being a hard worker, I'd prefer 4 years if we can settle on reasonable contract numbers. That's assuming he's a fit in the locker room. I have no idea what it was based on but reading a little bit of a Wizards forum I did see a Washington fan referring to him as a locker room cancer.
I'm suggesting that if it is an overpay a 3 year deal would have his contract out of the way when it is time to extend Ayton and/or Bridges. If we can get him at good value than I am all for a 4 year deal.

I'd prefer the 4 year deal if we're sure we want him. Each year the deal will move away from being an overpay and hopefully by the time it reaches the 4th year it will be a bargain. I just think it's too difficult to anticipate things like you're talking about because of the variables (who improves, who get's injured, who gets traded etc.). And worst case or perhaps best case scenario, if they all mature and develop as we want, we'll be using Bird Rights to sign some of them anyway.

Okobo is with the G-League team. He's been there since Melton was called up. They're keeping one down while the other is up. I like the way they've handled that. Better to see 30 minutes in the G-League than hope for garbage minutes to see time on the main roster. Koko isn't playing both in the same game so it's no loss.
Thanks for the info Mr Poop. I'm very happy with Melton. Hope he has a good game against Washington. He'll have his hands full with Wall, but he'll get plenty of rest also, if the info about Wall standing around a lot is true. I hope he's active on defense and gets a layup or two.

A first round pick attached to either Knight or Anderson is a hard sell when both are signed for another season at approximately $15 million.

Knight played some last night for the Rockets. I haven't checked yet to see how he did.

He's been away from the game for most of the last 2 years so it's going to take him time to get up to speed, whatever that is or will be for him.

Probably after Knight's contract is bought out/stretched.

I feel bad for Knight in a way. Unlike Bledsoe he spoke positively about his time here and expressed in an interest in turning things around. Maybe he can have a Marbury type of career and go to China to become "The Man". I think his game would work like Marbury's over there also. He'd be younger the Steph when he did it but that gives him more time to build a legacy.

Saw this tweet by The Timeline, it really sums up the Rivers buyout/waiving/whatever you want to call it. Definitely a quick way to summarize the latest happenings.
