Perception of Bidwill after AON

I think we all love Michael Bidwill as Cards fans and we know what he has done for the team and community. I wonder what outsiders think of him after seeing All Or Nothing? You see all these guys with families and besides establishing him as a fully engaged and contributing owner, an accomplished DA and pilot he almost comes off as a sad figure. No signs of family or relationships beyond a dog dying from cancer that he rescued, tried to save and broke his heart.

No question about that. A competent owner who is married to the job is an owner players love to play for.

Great post, Reddog. I think the Bidwills prefer to keep their family matters private. Even when MB dropped his dog off at his sister's house the day of a game, there was just a very quick shot of the sister as she was closing the door. Michael Bidwill teems with enthusiasm---he's upbeat and highly personable. His compassion is enormous---not just for Reilly his dog, but for everyone in the organization. He is the main reason why the Cardinals have taken chances with Tyrann Mathieu and Robert Nkemdiche---MB had the final say on both of those decisions. But, I think you are right---there is a sad side to MB that was revealed in AON. As Henry David Thoreau so aptly put it: "Most men lead lives of quiet desperation."

The sad comment wasn't specifically to the lack of family but more to how significant the dog was to him, absent of other apparent relationships outside of the building and how sad it was when he lost Reilly.

It is fairly common for people to be that involved with their dog, especially people who get dogs who are already dying and spend so much time with the ill dog trying to give it a good send off.

Actually, Pink Floyd had that line in the song "Time" from Dark Side of the Moon. It should be credited to them, not Thoreau.

I for one am very impressed that a man that was brought up in a lifestyle where he had all the money he needs turned into the man he is today. As stated in the original post. The man has earned many accolades outside of football, and has now turned around a team that was a laughing stock for a good portion of a century.

I do not see a spoiled brat of a rich man. I see Michael as a independent man who knows what it takes to succeed. I went from being very apathetic toward the Cardinals owner, and that apathy was mainly from his last name, to being a huge supporter.

The Bidwill family is extremely tight knit, no worries there. They are also super private and keep everything in house. It's always been that way.

As cheap as some thought he was, Bill Bidwill did more charity work in the valley during the 80's and 90's than they could possibly imagine. It's just that he always did it very, very quietly.

Michael seems like a driven guy, and judging by the interactions he's had with the Cheerleaders, I dont see any reason for him to get married anytime soon.

I thought the same thing. Even after they said who he was I had to squint to recognize him.
