I watched the first five minutes. While she was tearing the dresser apart I was thinking, "Good. Now take a big piece of wood and beat the crap out of the camera up in the corner so they can't see you anymore." When she didn't follow my advice ;) I turned it off in disgust.

It got better?

I enjoyed it.

Someone will eventually follow your advice, I'm sure. :) I was.....entertained by the fire starting, baffled why everyone would just get in that elevator, thought the outside looked totally like a movie set complete with fake street painted on the back lot ala California Adventured, listened to my kid compare it to Lord of the Flies and just flat out laughed at the Chinese restaurant scenes.

It has potential....

I agree. If this were an open ended series I might have more reservations but for a 13 episode story it looks interesting. I have very little tolerance for Alan Ruck though (especially when he's this whiney) so I hope some of the seven start dropping off soon.

That's how my wife and I took that as well. We were like "What a bunch of idiots. Watch them all get stuck in an elevator now. No one left behind to help or look for another way out." :doi:

Considering it was created by Christopher McQuarrie (who wrote The Usual Suspects), I'm expecting a lot of twists and turns in this series. Looking forward to it.

So can someone explain to me exactly what happened with the Chinese people showing up in the van?

The three "Unknowns" were laying in the street, to the RIGHT of the hotel if you are looking out of it form the doorway...and then the van pulls up on the left street...and they are carrying the bodies?

I missed something or the editing was awful. Help?

It was sort of choppy, but I think it is intentionally so.

I had thought the van drove around a roundabout before stopping and getting the UP's out, but I could be wrong. I was busy wondering “What the?”, and then of course laughing because a van full of Chinese people? In the middle of what looks like an abandoned town? Seriously? It struck my sense of the absurd.

The van came from the right and circled around to park in front of the hotel.

My guess is those Chinese guys are also kidnap victims and were ordered to do everything they did.

Anybody still watching? I've been watching it on On Demand so far I like it.

I suspect that it's someone's attempt at doing a show like Lost that has a lot of room for the fans to wonder "What the heck is going on" and it will be more about keeping us guessing than giving us answers. So far I like it though.

Some of the plot stuff bugged me though, such as the last one when they were trying to light the signal fire. They've had alcohol around before and they were in a camping store that had gas lanterns in it, I highly doubt someone treated the alcohol and gas with flame retardent too?

But I like the story so far it kind of reminds me of old Twilight Zone episodes if you just expanded them into a series. We'll see where they take it but so far I am enjoying it.

I watched the first two and then the first 10 minutes of episode 3 and was done with it.

A tunnel, really? Lanterns, boards, etc, like The Great Escape or something? From the middle of town? Not starting on the outskirts?

The camera at the beginning is SEARCHING for them, like it had no clue they all started digging a tunnel in the middle of town?

Ugh, awful...it's just really bad.

This is a show that has already wasted 3 hours. Everything happened in the pilot or in the past few minutes of each episode. Other than that, it's just wave after wave of inane attempts to show that they have no hope of escape. Ok, we get it! Get on with the actual story for chrissakes!

Doesn't help when the only guy on the outside that is in a position to get more information is an awful actor and a bland character.

I turned it on again mid-show to see if I should give it a second chance. They were removing something from people's thighs that looked like the "bug" they sucked out of Neo's belly button in "The Matrix".

I thought, "Well that's original" and turned it right back off again.

They actually did start on the edge of town in the prior episode testing how far they could go before the implants got zapped. Now they're trying to deactivate the instrument that zaps them since removing the implants didn't seem to solve it.

The last half hour or so of the last episode bugged me, the whole fear of being gassed and who should get the masks etc. They tried to twist it but it just didn't work for me even with the twist to make the outcome less obvious.

I like the basic idea but as Chaplin said they need to move it along now, we get that they're not just going to escape easily, so get on with the story, why are they there, what does the PI have to do with it etc.

As a side note to the show, the maitre d' (sp?) for the chinese restaurant was one of the main bad guys in Prison Break.

Yes and if you saw last night he played a role that I gotta say you could see coming from 100 miles away. Last nights episode was really bad, not only was the "reveal" really obvious, but there were a couple of scenes where they just essentially stole from multiple movies, let's see who ever heard of an unknown trucker trying to ram innocent people on a road gee that's never been done before in Duel or the Hitcher or JoyRide or on and on.

Last night they promised the show would reveal what's going on by the end of the summer, it will be interesting to see if they get that far. They had an intriguing idea but they appear headed down the wrong path to explore that idea.

Haven't watched the ep yet but will probably do so tonight.

I'll likely keep up with it, there isn't much on right now. Which is great about a DVR I don't have to commit to watching the show as it airs or suffering through commercials on a so-so show.

Hopefully if I continue watching it can at least run the entire season.

Last night was the first time I saw it live I've been watching it on on demand.

I'm sticking with it too I do worry it won't be allowed to finish if last nights episode was any indication of what they have left up their sleeves.

I agree though, not much on right now.

Other than the last 10 minutes (Tory disappearing and Joe's reveal), that was one of the biggest wastes of time I've ever seen in a television episode.

The taxi, the cabin, what was the point? There wasn't one. At all.

This is the classic example of a 2 hour movie idea dragged out into 13 episodes. It doesn't help that the acting is still horrible, especially by the leads.
