I still bet that it doesn't happen until problems with a new CBA get done. With a possible lockout next season all teams are taking the same approach with their big name guys. I think realistically nothing happens during this season for that reason.

I just don't see how it's possible to NOT do him this offseason. Have you seen all the guys were going to have to re-sign next year? AND we'll have to get Fitz (and possibly Leinart) done next offseason. Dockett HAS to be done this year or their may not be enough money to go around the next offseason.

Not the Jets. The Eagles extended a bunch of guys last year and probably this year, too. What about Willis and the 49ers?

redforceone is making me a bunch of "Extend 9-0" signs for training camp. If you see me week 1 I will likely have one to carry.

We need to let management know the fans consider this a priority.

I'm really beginning to think that a wink and a nod deal has been already done, considering the change in attitude fron Nine-O this year. I think all parties are just waiting for the right time to reveal it.

Much of the same as last offseason as far a alot of FA's. How many of those guys got big deals or multi year contracts? I had a thread before last season began voicing my concerns about this. We will see, but I will believe it when I see it. Whens the last time the Cards extended more than 1-2 guys before or during a season?

If he re-signs, I will buy a nine-0 jersey the following day!!

Same here! I have Plummer, Shipp, Boldin, Hightower and Wilson. Wanted to add a Dockett this summer, but with him running his mouth about leaving non stop it has kept me from buying one.

For the 2009 offseason to be seen as successful, the Cards have to extend two of Dockett, Breaston, Leinart, and/or Fitz. Leinart is probably the lowest priority since he will still be under contract if there's a 2011 season. But if the Cards don't extend two of those guys by Christmas, then it'll be pretty clear that the team decided to pocket the money they saved from Warner, Rolle, and Dansby.

Consider the source of the info (PFT), take a long, deep breath and move on to something else.

Should be one of our main priorities.

I place Dockett as one of the best 3 at his position in the NFL and as important to our defense as Fitz is to our offense. We would be fools to let this guy go. Good players like him will get their money either here or with some other team. He can talk the talk but he also can walk the walk. Make a deal.

Leinart has a really big deal due him after next season. He is really going to have to perform to justify what he will be owed. I think it is around $11 million.

The Jets handed out funny money basically one year deals. The break down of their recently signed OLmen is laughable and his agent should be fired. So they are not any more on the hook or off the hook then any other team for next year.
