I'll still take th Boldin for Rhodes and a 5th Rounder...I can't think of any players that we would want from those teams other than picks.

Boldin trade close; Ravens, Chiefs, Patriots are interested

Posted by Michael David Smith on March 5, 2010 3:59 PM ET

The Arizona Cardinals have multiple trade offers for wide receiver Anquan Boldin and are close to determining which one they'll accept.

PFT has heard that the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots are all interested in acquiring Boldin from the Cardinals.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Cardinals have spent much of Friday weighing their offers and determining which one to take. Schefter says that right now, the Ravens are the leading contenders.

Although it was reported this week that the Cardinals wanted a third-round draft pick for Boldin, it's possible that the presence of multiple bidders for his services has upped the price.

The 29-year-old Boldin had 84 catches for 1,024 yards and four touchdowns in 2009.

All the better! I'd be content for a second and a late round pick. Then again, I also like the Rhodes and a 5th idea too.

If this is true, we are looking at a 2nd rounder, they have three of them.

I have a feeling we'll be disappointed with what we get.

Could you imagine the Pats with Brady tossing to Boldin-Welker-Moss? Yikes! I would think the Pats would be stupid to not want Boldin....

And now Kent Somers is saying:

No confirmation that cards are talking Boldin trade with Pats, Ravens and Chiefs

How does a sportswriter from Baltimore know this? Think he has a local agenda?

These posts are ridiculous.

I agree

The Pats have more firepower plus they really need Boldin with Welker likely out for the year

I would contest they don't need Q as much as we think. I doubt they see the difference between Q (and his new contract) and Julian Edelman as great as a second round pick.

Now I know what the counter will be. In NO WAY am I saying Edelman can hold Q's jock, but the Pats value picks and I don't think they are as frantic about Welker's replacement as we would hope.

I wouldn't put it past NE to be looking to acquire Q so they can deal Moss on draft day. As important as Moss is to that offense, it makes sense that they'd look to extend their "dominance" (such as it is today) as long as they can by getting value from a player before he just walks away.

How can they deal Moss with Welker hurt?
