I know it's one preseason game, but... maybe, just maybe it actually *is* the offense.

Well I was only able to follow the first three quarters, but... :D Bell and Marion really revved up for the second half. How about Barbosa!?

Hadn't thought about the defense... Surely Allen and Lewis are one of the hardest to defend duos in the league. The rebounding was sure encouraging. Marion's offense was flat the first half but he got 6 or 7 rebounds.

Wow. Ridnour had quite a game against Barbosa. 18 points 10 assists and 7 rebounds. Allen had 28 on Bell but that's no big loss since he had 30 some against Joe Johnson in the game I saw last year in Seattle.

Jones apparently lit up the 4th... he only had 5 or so when the Courtside broadcast stopped after the third. Clutch performer or hot shooter?

Seeing him in the scrimmage and practice so far I have been impressed.

Doesn't quite have the handle or playmaking ability. I think he could be what I hoped McCarty could have been last year.

Unfortunately McCarty was a little too far gone for this offense.

YEEHAW!!!

Now when Nash gets back, the Team needs to work on defense... because the Team will likely play well Offensively with Nash back ;) and the Team won't have-to play soooo many minutes. Even it out with 1 more key player (talking Pre-Season) returning...

On this Suns Team: Jame Jones, Boris Diaw, Leandro Barbosa, and Eddie House are the youngsters and I always feel it's important to have talented youngsters because when injuries happen - it's the potential players that usually step up... hopefully Bell can keep up the 3PT shooting, he won't have-to lead Team in scoring every night, play defense and spread court...

I'm a little disappointed in technical though, remember it was I, that mentioned he has some toughness but he can get carried away... lol and the 3 defenders the Team brought over needs to cut down on Fouls (each had 5) they should learn soon unless D won't take that approach anymore? Bell played well and hopefully I can eat crow this year. I never said he sucked - I mentioned I don't like "tough guys" but maybe with Amare Stoudemire out, Bell's and KT's toughness will be needed - along with Brian Grant's...

Eddie House is really the only asu player I feared as UofA fan, and he shoud put up some good scoring numbers - Boris Diaw does the things that helps Team win (assuming he's on a Team that is capable of winning) but hopefully he gets better and better as Season goes, being on a Team with talent... he's like 1 of my favorite players on this Team.

If I had ever played in NBA and when I did with friends... Iguodala, Garcia, Diaw, etc. are the kind of players I like watching (trying to play like) I'm a short guy that likes to pass, rebound, steals, blocks, play D; I'm just not much of a scorer :p

I listened to some of the second half on the radio. I will make a predication right now that the Suns set an NBA record for the most three point attempts and hopefully on threes made. Last night the shot 13 of 31 (41.6%).

With Amare going down, I was worried about Grant being able to pick up the slack, but his 6 rebounds in 19 minutes was very encouraging. When added to KT's excellant 10 rebounds in 29 minutes and Marion's 9 rebounds in 26 minutes, I am very enouraged by their rebounding.

One really interesting stat was that Marion had 5 assists. That is an area that Marion never really showed well at which suggests the team is really working on improving overall ball movement. 28 assists for a team without Nash is really incredible.

I always thought Marion was a decent passer but he didn't do it a whole lot... I think he averages around 3 assists/game. The 28 assists without Nash was a big surprise, as you say, and the most encouraging aspect of the game. They also outrebounded the Sonics, which is good news, too.

With that many assists you'd think they had to be moving well off the ball but the team only made six buckets in the paint (reading from the shot chart) of which two were just inside the foul line. So it seems from that they didn't get the running game cranked up and they didn't have many plays that got them to hoop in the half court.

The Sonics didn't make any more baskets in the paint but they shot 35 FTs to the Suns 19 which argues they were getting in close considerably more.

A poster on a Sonics forum who went to the game asked what they were doing having the offense run through Diaw while he was being guarded by a 4!

Diaw now has become our point forward, since our point guard and point center are out.
