LEWISBURG — Blue Mountain’s Noah Powers will go for gold again tonight. This time in the 100-yard freestyle.

Powers finished second in the preliminary race with a time of 46.32 behind Indiana’s Preston Kessler who finished with a time of 44.27. North Schuylkill’s Gavin Mentzer finished 20th in the same event with a final time of 49.87.

Marian’s Michael Strucko will also go for gold tonight as he finished in fifth place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 51.58. Strucko clinches a spot in the finals. Blue Mountain’s Brody Moyer of Blue Mountain finished 24th with a final time of 55.71 in the event.

Blue Mountain’s Porter Sarnes finished 10th in the 500-yard freestyle, with a time of 4:49.81. Sarnes earned a spot in the events consolation round tonight.

Blue Mountain’s (Liam Magdeburg, Aidan Varney, Porter Sarnes, Gabriel Kamarousky) placed 24th in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:25.42.

The boys finals and consolations events will start at 7 p.m.

100-yard freestyle — 2. Noah Powers (Blue Mountain) 46.32, 20. Gavin Mentzer (North Schuylkill) 49.87

500-yard freestyle — 10. Porter Sarnes (Blue Mountain) 4:49.81

100-yard backstroke — 5. Michael Strucko (Marian) 51.58 24. Brody Moyer (Blue Mountain) 55.71

400-yard freestyle relay — 24. Blue Mountain (Varney, Magdeburg, Sarnes, Kamarousky) 3:25.42
