Maybe Memphis makes it easy on us and just wins tonight.
Maybe!
Maybe!
Perhaps the question should be, can the lottery be rigged?
If not, fans should be able to view the process.
I think the NBA contributes to these rumors by not allowing the process to be viewed by the public.
It's true that they should webcast it, but they'd need to post the table of combinations in advance. It would not make for good live television.
They should do it. At this point I'm willing to be bored.

A rigged lottery couldn't be kept secret forever and would be devastating to the league if it ever came out.
I never believed it's rigged...never have, never will.
I say this every year, but a well regarded accounting firm observes and audits the lottery process every year. They would not only be jeopardizing the firm's reputation, but it's very existence all for a silly basketball lottery.
Think Arthur Andersen. They were the accounting firm that was supposed to be auditing Enron's books. The company was founded in 1913 and one of the most prestigious accounting firms prior to Enron. It's now been dissolved.
Read Tim Donaghy book, the NBA is as rigged as WWF, Lakers Kings was exhibit one

Are you reading any of the other posts? We're talking about the lottery specifically.
Ewing was a Conspiracy, that did happen
That's a misquote. McD never stated that we would trade them. He even said we are looking at adding only 2 OR 3 picks this year. That covers all 3 1st rounders. This is one thing I'm happy McD said, because if he did say what is quoted here, he would be a massive idiot. As of right now the Miami pick is at 17 and the Bucks pick is at 16. I know 15 and 16 is ideal since that's as high as they could be since they're not missing the playoffs but 1 spot back isn't that bad. McD stated on Burns & Gambo today that if we get all 3 picks this year that it's unlikely we use them ourselves, they'll look to trade up or trade for a veteran.

What evidence do you have for that?
Crap. That could have cost us the pick right there. John Wall blows a shot to go ahead.
