I'm not sure how this will play out, but - having run out of things to do during the blackout - I hereby propose we create the following:

An All Star team of players who would have been perennial Pro Bowl players but, for various reasons didn't:

Examples:

QB - Tim Rosenbach
TE - The late JV Cain
RB - Garrison Hearst
DE - Andre Wadsworth
DT - Eric Swann

Anyone want to take a shot?

If memory serves me right, a big part of the reason that he signed with Minnesota is that the Cards wanted to convert him to a safety. He wanted to stay a CB, which the Vikings said that he would play so he signed there. He ended up switching anyways and became a Pro Bowl safety.

Ok so I understand what we are looking for is players the Cardinals drafted that we think would have been All Pro/possibly HOF but won't ever get that chance right?

Here is the list.
Tim Rosenbach, massive potential cut short by a devastanting knee injury.

Tim McDonald, Why we ever let him go is beyond me.

Garrison Hearst, loved this guy too bad his legs just didn't have it.

Larry Centers, he never gets the recognition he deserves and may never get to the HOF due to being a fullback.

Bill Gramatica, stupidity ended what could have been a really, really great career.

Garrison Hearst.
In advance, forgive me for any convenient lapse in memory, but if I recall correctly:

Either Jim Hanifan or Joe Bugel was the HC and Hearst (who may have missed a preseason game or two due to either holdout or injury) finally got his opportunity to show everybody what he got.

And show everyone, he did. If he didn't run for a gazillion yards on his first carry, he sure did on his subsequent ones.

And, loving what he saw, coach kept handing the pigskin to Garrison - over and over and over and over in that preseason game - until Hearst finally blew out a knee.

It was the beginning of the end.

At least that's the way I remember it.

Freddie Jones and Duane Starks, those guys were very solid, but not much when it was Card time!

At least McDonald went to 3 pro-bowls as a Cardinal and 3 more with the 4and9ers and Centers made two with Arizona and one with Buffalo. Garrison Hearst made two PBs with SF.
