Last inning should shatter the myth of Trumbo providing protection.

Tie game, 8th inning, one out, runners on 2nd and 3rd, Trumbo comes up in a situation that screams "intentional walk", you see a walk there almost every time it happens. But not only do the Pirates apparently not fear Trumbo, but they treat him like an easy out. They attacked him, put him down 0-2, then he popped out to 1st.

I couldn't believe they pitched to him. Even for as much as I criticize him, it seemed like regardless of who was batting a walk would be likely. Really disappointing outcome, he should feel insulted that they pitched to him.

Also, Addison Reed is terrible.

I cannot wait for the mistakes of Towers to stop haunting us.

We had a chance in the 8th with 2 on and no outs but we couldnt bring in a run. Disappointing loss in terms of the offense. nice pitching by Ruby.

Great outing by Ruby goes to waste... And Goldy in a mini slump which spells disaster for this team as nobody else is capable of driving in runs. Damn...

I wonder with Nathan out for the season if Detroit would be interested in Reed. We don't need much in return. I say a 1992 Teal Geo Tracker would be fair.

I have an un-natural and unhealthy hatred of Reed.

I simply despise him.

How in God's name can TWO regimes think he is a MLB closer?

I was at the game tonight and would have preferred to see a hitters' battle.

But with the batting averages of the D-backs and Pirates, a pitchers' battle was predictable.

Until Reed was the pitcher.

It is time to banish him from the 7th inning on, let alone the 9th.

Going back to last night's ninth inning that's THREE outs in THREE innings on the basepaths.

It's embarassing.

Wow... Thru 4 innings, the Dbacks are now 5 for 39 over the past 5+ games with RISP! Not surprisingly, Goldy only has 2 hits over that same period.... Once again, it's all Goldy or bust!

Wow, they are horrible. Two runs in 3 games. This team cannot afford to have 3 automatic outs in the lineup. They need to bring up guys that can hit the ball.

They started out well this season but that 2nd half of the hitting order is not going to cut it the rest of the season. Why pitch to Goldy at all?

Every one of your posts on here are negative. You never discuss baseball, just give your negative response. Just my humble observation. Are you interested in the DBacks at all, or just here to make negative comments? I think you are just being sarcastic but no sarcasm symbol used. BTW, I picked them to win 72 games this year and now I'm thinking that is too many. But I still like to talk baseball. Lighten up, join in the discussion.

After this series and how bad the offense was, maybe they'll reconsider the bottom of the lineup. Missing Lamb is really hurting since Tomas is doing nothing. That's 4 weak spots in the lineup basically. Owings average is shooting up, and tuffy had a decent 2nd game of the series. That being said everyone was quiet tonight.

I don't expect a super year from the DBacks, I just expect competetive baseball, and good coaching. The rookies and surprise performances are always what get me excited when rooting for a team who doesn't have playoff aspirations

Something needs to be done - not sure what though. 2 runs won't cut it - we have to outslug the competition with our staff the way it is.
