Whole family really enjoyed it! On par with the others. Another one some may want to wait till credits are over.

Family went today to go see it. I have to echo what others said. Family really enjoyed the film. It was fun IMO and worth seeing.

I loved the original. Thought that the second one was Blah. The third was Horrid IMO. So I went into this movie expecting the worst.

I'm glad to report that it exceeded my expectations. I liked it much better than the last two. It was a good fun popcorn movie.

It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. Too long, for certain. Eh, worth the price of admission. Ian McShane was great.

Agreed on all accounts.

Surprisingly my wife who hasn't really liked these films actually enjoyed this one.

We had to choose between Hangover II or this and this movie seemed more like a movie that would be better experienced in a theater than Hangover II. Plus Depp as Sparrow is highly entertaining. From his manner of speaking to the weird way he walks and flails around.

A few things that were irritating but not too distracting.

What happened? We had to bolt as credits were reading.

I've never understood the huge appeal of these movies. I don't necessarily dislike them, but I don't go out of my way to see them, either.

I liked the first one but I seriously thought the 2nd one was so miserably long and terrible that I never saw the third. That's just my personal preference though I know a lot of people who are very fond of this franchise. The previews for this one look ok though, I might check it out. Is it a prequel?

Boring, flat, and uninspired... The only cool scenes was with all the mermaids...Jack is played out...time to move on.

Three big votes for "Man, did that suck, or what?!"

Color me confused. What is it about this franchise that sent people to the theater in the first place. The first one was decent but the second one was so bad it never crossed my mind to see the third one let alone this installment.

This movie was meant to be entertaining and it was. I thought Johnny Depp was great in this film once again as Jack. Is it played out? Possibly but I look forward to what will probably be the last POTC film. My family enjoys them.

Johnny Depp.

Yeah, that's probably why my wife suckered me into watching the first one. But, if she ever feels the need for more Depp in the future I think I'll suggest she just re-watch Don Juan Demarco.

For your swashbuckling fix, might I recommend Errol Flynn or Tyrone Power instead. They're from the good old days, when pirates movies were pirate movies rather than just another Disney funding scheme.

I know some prefer more realistic swashbuckling fix out of this franchise but it's based on a fantasy ride as Disneyland. I think considering the movies are based on these rides I wouldn't expect them to be like the old films. That is not what this franchise was about.

There just are not any of those types of films being made anymore. Probably the closest thing in recent films was Master and Commander. Not really a Pirate film or swashbuckler per say but it had that feel and was a good movie. By the way if you have the Blu Ray....the HD sound track is one of my favorites.

Yes. :) Love that place, except for lots of talking all the time. Don't like that one bit!

Love that they have the refill cup now, too!

We saw Thor there and our only complaint was they turned on the lights and came in to clean the theater while the credits were still rolling and people for the next showing were let in also. Workers were sweeping and walking back and forth in rows and moviegoers were discussing where to sit while the rest of us tried to watch/listen to the after-the-credits scene.

:lame:

:hulk:

Then we saw X-Men: First Class and they roped off the door so people for the next screening couldn't come in early...but there was no after-the-credits scene for that film. LOL
