I am a pissedofftimist and I'm proud of it!!! Myself and other pissedofftimists have all likely come to this point from different approaches. For me, I can't say I was ever an optimist on the level of some of the true kool-aiders on this board. But, I did see a chance for us to make the post season. And at minimum, I did expect to see some material changes from years past.
While there has been some evidence that a degree of progress has been made in certain areas (run defense), in far too many ways this team too closely resembles the teams from years ago. Can't run. Can't win on the road. Lost TWICE to the 9ers. No depth. No heart. Lead the league in penalties. No pass rush. Non-existent kicking game. Questionable play-calling. Questionable use of challenges with virtually NO success...

Heading into week 1, I was predicting 7-8 wins. And so from that perspective, I should be satisfied... But I'm NOT. I'm pissed off. I'm a pissedofftimist!!! This was the year we could have/should have broke free from the decades of despair... It was all there being handed to us... And through no fault of anyone else but the players and coaches, we said "no thank-you"...

Yes, I'm a pissedofftimist!!!! Get used to it!!

I have been following this team so long I am too jaded to be that upset. Maybe if I had seen the game yesterday or paid for season tickets?

The SF game forced me to the depths of hell...I was cut deep by that.

I couldn't stay that far down though. But I knew I could never be an optimist again. But I still give a good 3 years for a coach and a good 3-4 years for a player before I completely write them off, and am quicker to praise than to condemn. There is still hope, but no expectations. Expectations for the worst, maybe. I'd prefer to be wrong about us sucking than wrong about us winning. I'd rather feel elated that we sneak off with a victory a la the Browns game than crushed by a loss a la SF, CHI, KC, etc.

I'm pissed off at the inability of this team to get over the damn hump and I do not trust them.

I am a Pissedofftimist.

I'll stay as a darksider and 7-9.

I thought we'd win between 7 and 9 games this season. After playing the games, that should have been a lock.

I now am fairly confident we aren't winning another game.

My wife believes the team is cursed. I used to argue with her about it. After the niners game, I argue no more.

wouldn't 8-8 be the record for a pissedoftimist?

No, that's a koolaider record.

I thought somewhere between 7 to 9 wins back in my Koolaid days. (realistic koolaiders).

8-8 would make me Very Happy. It is not in my future.

That's all I'm asking for at this point...and I'm pissed that this team sucks and won't even give me a Non-loss season.

I'm not pissed. They have actually been slightly better than I expected so far. We are not a deep team yet. If you really expected to win at Seattle with Wilson, Green, Berry, Boldin out (and a gimpy Fitz) you were drinking too much kool-aid. Heck, I was expecting a double digit loss to Cleveland.

Did you really expect to reach the playoffs? An 8-8 season would be more than I expected. Not that there weren't dissapointments. Too bad Leinart wasn't able to get more PT. Losing to SF twice is horrid. Edge looks even slower than last year.

I wish I could get there.

But I feel betrayed by the team and its showing in cincinatti. Remember, I thought we'd get thumped by that team from the start of the season on. They came out and whispered sweet nothings in my ear, and beat them on the road.

Then they went and did that against SF.

It's as if I was on a road trip and my gf came to visit me for crazy wild hotel room fun, then when I got home I walk in on her banging a one-legged cable installer guy with a lazy eye and halitosis.

Anyone who thought we'd win at seattle should be in an I Love Me jacket.

RC, read my post again buddy... At the start of the season, I most certainly did not expect to be a post season team. I also did not expect to see us lose TWICE to the 9ers. I did not expect us to suck in so many ways that so resemble previous teams...
And, regardless of what I expected, we still had a great shot at making the post season, injuries and all... And we blew it...
Did I expect us to win yesterday? Of course not... But I did expect us to at least show up! In true Cardinal historical form, we chose not to prepare, not to show up and to make the Hawks look like the Pats and Hasselbeck look like Brady...

Man I am becoming more and more of a pissedofftimist with each passing post!!!

I am on the fence. The dark side is tempting, the pissedofftimist party is... also tempting. I am pissed, but not usually much of an optimist. Why isn't there a party for the little guy? Damn this 2 party system.

It was all right there for us. All we had to do was TAKE IT.

Cheese was sipping koolaid for crying out loud.

We have a legit return man!

We were fighting for the playoffs with BACKUPS and rookies.

Two defensive players of the week.

And we can't freaking win enough games to make the playoffs in our weak division and our cakewalk schedule.

Gah!!

1/2 darksider + 1/2 kool-aider, stir = 1 pissedofftimist

that's me.

When it comes to Graves- extreme darksider
when it comes to Whiz/staff- kool-aider
when it comes to the Cards- pissedofftimist
