1/2 darksider + 1/2 kool-aider, stir = 1 pissedofftimist

that's me.

When it comes to Graves- extreme darksider
when it comes to Whiz/staff- kool-aider
when it comes to the Cards- pissedofftimist

Hmm. forgot about the kool-ade crowd. Are they (we) still around? I seem to change from week to week depending on my drinking.

Whether they admit it or not, I bet 75% of Cardfans become koolaiders more and more as the week progresses. I

I used to.

I actually now get more and more dark as the week goes on. Then I watch the game looking for tiny little bright spots.

From Seattle Game thread:

Although we didn't get that ball off of the strip by Dansby, man did you see how FAST Pace was coming after the QB? I was shocked...he was MOVING, man.

Then after the game, I'm in a decent mood...and as the next game draws nigh, the darkness builds.

With no expectations, there is no crushing feeling. I still cheer my ass off because I have a job to do there, and if it makes a difference and/or we win, then that's fantastic. If we lose..hey, that's what we do best!

And, regardless of what I expected, we still had a great shot at making the post season, injuries and all... And we blew it...Did I expect us to win yesterday? Of course not... But I did expect us to at least show up! In true Cardinal historical form, we chose not to prepare, not to show up and to make the Hawks look like the Pats and Hasselbeck look like Brady...

Can't agree with ya pal on the highlighted areas. I don't feel it was a lack of effort. We are not there yet. We are thin at too many positions and too beat up at others. Warner does not hold the key to success in the present or future. We seem to be going in the right direction overall. Maybe next year.

Ok... fair enough I guess... But, can you describe exactly what it is that makes you feel as though we are moving in the "right direction" overall??

Off the top of my head..........

A pretty good starting line-up when healthy. 6 wins so far - some against good teams (and a few more if we could surgically turn Rackers foot 2 inches to the right), 2 road wins (hopefully 3), Whiz, Grimm (though the uneven O-line performances do give me pause), Breaston, still have faith in Leinart, been good at re-signing our guys lately.

What can I say, the bar was set kinda low......

Well, you used the "if" word again, which I guess for Cards fans, is really all ya got at the end of the day...
Maybe we can start another self-help group called the "iftimists" group. This is for all those that go to bed each Sunday night, running through the hundreds of "ifs", believing that "if" any one of those "ifs" went the other way, outcomes would be different and we would see an improved Cards team. I woud guess that over the last 10 years, there is no other pro sports team that has caused so many "what ifs", or "if only's"... That alone should help the Iftimists group get off to a solid start!!!

I'm a Conraddoblerist.

I think the team is just cursed and so I just watch and laugh at the crazy stuff that happens to the football team.

It was all right there for us. All we had to do was TAKE IT.

Cheese was sipping koolaid for crying out loud.

We have a legit return man!

We were fighting for the playoffs with BACKUPS and rookies.

Two defensive players of the week.

And we can't freaking win enough games to make the playoffs in our weak division and our cakewalk schedule.

Gah!!

:billthecat:
If we beat the sucky 9ers both times, chance are all Cards would have do to assure a playoff appearence, would have been to win just ONE of the final Three games. Not to mention we would still have a great chance at winning the division.
