in the spirit of the failure thread, even though i agree with those posts, how about a positive one:

Grant Hill
He had 32 points tonight. good to see him back and playing well. never thought he even would play again. i know it's early, but he should even be able to play well, considering what he's gone through.

Casey Jacobsen

He needs to improve his value so we can ask for Nene from the Nuggets.

Of course I would like to see the entire Phoenix Suns roster flourish. More than anyone I would like to see Cabarkapa do well. He looked like he could be a part of this team before that Danny Fortson foul.

I drafted Grant Hill in my fantasy league, I'm pretty happy he's doing well, but mainly because of how hard he's worked to get back.

I would think most players wouldn't go through all that, they'd have given up by now.

But I think he's a guy who knows how much money has been spent on him doing nothing, and he's trying to make up for it.

What a great guy.

personally the player i want to do the best is amare. not just because i was hoping we would pick him 2 months before the draft. but also for everything he has gone through in his life he is still a very good guy (and is even better when he mother stays away from him).

another is hunter. man this team has needed a real center for so long it is about time that we got one.

after that zo and hill are some great guys to hope that they do well.

Alonzo Mourning

I felt the same way about Alonzo Mourning about six months ago. However since his return he has acted like a real ass as far as I'm concerned. He wants the New Jersey Nets to buy out his contract, so he can play for a contender. He wants them to pay nearly all of the rest of his contract though. He also makes it sound like they owe it to him.

I don't wish Zarko well at all. In fact I could care less.

The guy is still hardly speaking english at all and needs an interpretor. In the offseason he went to Serbia to try out for the olympic team and failed while Lampe, Barbosa etc worked hard in Phoenix all summer.

And if Zarko did well I would have to admit that I was wrong when we drafted him.
I hope I am wrong on Lampe though. I called Zarko the next Langhi and Lampe the next Ferry.
That doesn't matter really. ;)

I don't see the work and attitude from Zarko to make the Suns a better team. I can't stand that.

LBJ

been watching him since he was 16. we were posting in message boards talking about ways to get people excited about the league again and I posted something to the effect of 'imagine if a guy came out of high school and scored 15 points a game, people would be all over him!', then comes lebron and proceeds to do what amare has done so far: shatter the most optimistic of expectations...

we have a renessaince coming here with the great players and the better officiating... for loose parallels:

amare - Hakeem-like
bron - Magic-like
nowitzki - Bird-like
kobe - MJ-lite (i know some disagree, but he's pretty good)
melo - ass-like
dwayne - dont know, but he's damn good!

This could be a fun game, but unless Amare grows 4 inches, blocks anything within 2 feet of the basket and develops a deadly 14-foot jumper from the baseline, he's nothing like Hakeem. I think the comparisons to Moses Malone are dead on. They're both raw genetic freaks.

LeBron is a few inches shorter than Magic, but he has 10 times the athletic ability. He's a good passer, but no one's like Magic. Not even closer.

Ray Allen - Walter Davis-like.

Stephen Hunter is a taller Tim Perry.

Kevin Garnett is the love child of Hakeem Olajuwan and John "Spider" Sally.

Dwane Wade - World B. Free-like

I'm hoping some of you older than me can get even more obscure.

I want Zarko playing like he briefly showed last season... with Balls.

Happy for Grant Hill also.

Yes, I agree.........hopefully he can play this year and soon, to see what he can do. Not sure how that is going to happen unless there is an injury, and I do not want that to happen to any players. Cabarkapa can run and gun and he should fit the current suns style great.

Although, if Voskuhl keeps playing like he has been, he may go on I. R. soon!!

OK Ok. I disagree. Hakeem was 6-10 to 7-0 depending on who you talked to. Thats 2 inches more than Amare at most. He was a better than average shot blocker. But he had a sweet finesse post game with a good deal of speed.

I do agree that its nothing like Amare. For getting a little more obscure. Amare reminds me more of Moses Malone. There is something similar in that raw power, aggressiveness, and incredible self-confidence. But Malone didn't have Amare's speed. Some have compared Amare to Kemp, and there is a similarity, but he has already passed Kemp (during his best years).

Dwayne Wade -- Isiah Thomas.

Garnett --- Honestly, I cannot think of anyone that compares with the size and skills. He's a new one.

Dirk -- Tom Chambers.

I think Dirk is tougher than Chambers and he's a much better rebounder.

As far as Lebron - I would compare him to a mix of Jordan/Magic/Dominique in that I believe he has Michael's drive to be the best, Magic inate basketball IQ (remember this kid is only 19) and without a doubt he's got Nique's power.

I'm still floor by that drive he had againbst us where it looks like he was going to tear the rim off with that dunk at the then end of the game. I mean - before Bron - who the hell in their right mind would EVER watch a Cavs game - he has almost singlehandedly (especially with Boozer leaving) taken that team on hisvery young shoulders and made them not only watchable, but competitive as well. With Boozer on that team - we could have been looking at the next Eastern Conference Power for years to come - but he'll have to bide his time - getting to Cavs to the playoffs like Michael did until he gets a couple mroe pieces around him. I'd already take him over any player in the game if I were starting from scratch, with Amare a VERY close second.

Those two guys - not Kobe, not Garnett(well - maybe Garnett), not Yao, not T-Mac, not Duncan - are going to lead the new revolution in the NBA.

Has anyone else noticed that scores are up this year and there actually seems to be a couple quality teams in the East? I also think Josh Howard is going to end being a good player and that next year Orlando will also be very good. Franchise is finally living up to his moniker and it's good to see Grant Hill out there again producing - I hope it lasts - he deserves it.

Come on, man.

First of all, if there's a harder worker in the NBA than Alonzo Mourning, I don't know him. The way he's playing, it's nothing short of remarkable.

But that's not really the important thing. The truth is, the New Jersey Nets did not want him to come back, because they didn't want to pay his contract. Of course I can understand that, but what do you want from Zo? For him to say, "I know they don't want me on my team, but I'm going to support everything they do!"? If a basketball team told me, "We don't want you to play for us," I would feel no loyalty to them.

Listen, I used to really dislike Mourning. As a Suns fan who lives in Southeast Florida, it used to be very easy to hate Zo, but now it's more than that. Saturday night, the Nets play the Wizards. For Alonzo, that might very well be his last game as a pro; he could play for another 4 years, but it's not certain by any stretch. I know it's a tough thing to fathom, being a Suns fan, where it goes, in order of importance: Money, money, luxury tax, money, basketball, and then last, but not least, money.. but there are more important things in life than money. Obviously, Zo wants to make money, but he also wants to win, and he doesn't have the luxury of being able to be part of a rebuilding team to win games. If you know somebody who has worked harder than Zo in the past 2 years, tell me about it, and I'll admit I was wrong about him.. otherwise, I can't help but cheer for the guy.

And don't say "but he wants lots of money, that's why the Nets won't buy him out," because nobody knows how much money he'd be demanding in a buy-out. It's all speculation at this point, and Rod Thorn is too classy to give the specific numbers to the New York media.

Amare Stoudemire?

I'm not exactly sure how we could possibly know who or who doesn't but Stoudemire has improved a lot and is known for wanting to be best... and he could be - the best PF (if not at least behind Kevin Garnett). I will always consider Tim Duncan a Center (sort of like Shawn Marion being a SF).
