Agreed, it's all about wins and losses at the end of the day. No participation trophy for any leading the league in a meaningless stats.
90% completions
6000 yards
45 Touchdowns
700 yds rushing
4-13
Yeah....that would suck major rocks.
However, historically speaking, consistently producing meaningless stats usually leads to victories.
Call them KPI's....or, Key Performance Indicators as they are called in business.
I only like them with Kyler because they demonstrate that while he is not setting the league on fire he is in fact performing at a more consistent measurable level.
Once Kylers level of competition becomes a predictable known quantity it makes it far easier to build the offense around him and achieve success.
The inconsistency and instability of his on field product has always been his biggest flaw.
We don't need 300 yds passing and 2 TDs a game from him...if we know we are guaranteed 75% completions with 190 yards and 1 TD through the air...and 50 yards with .5 TDs a game on the ground...we can build around that...and on days he performs better are just a bonus.
The last season since his injury Ky.er has managed to drastically reduce his dumpster fire performances... but some of the "wow" factor has also gone. I'm fine with that if it allows petting to establish a baseline
