This is from the Spurs forum:

Somehow, these Suns are like the Spurs used to be in those past series. They may have a bad half shooting-wise, but they stay in the game.

:D

Mentally soft tonight... now Grant Hill with a huge mental error and Frye with matador defense on Duncan.

I wouldn't call this year's Suns mentally soft. Yeah, they laid an egg in the first quarter, but they went from 18 down to 6 in the 2nd, in large part because of our defense.

ok... down 6 at the half is ok. Just gotta come out STRONG to begin the third.

Argh. We sure have a habit of giving up to end the quarters. :(

Ill take being down by 6 when they have 17ft attempts to our 8, and we have played like crap and were down 18 at one point.

Well, coulda been much worse going into the half. If the Suns can "become the Suns" they'll have a shot at stealing this game.

Ok - I can't stand Manu on the court, but his assessment of the Suns and the need for the Spurs to play great defense to win is accurate. Both he and Parker in that earlier segment paid the Suns huge compliments (Nash one of the best, they are maybe the best 3pt shooting team ever).

We need to get more shots for JRich and Hill, who are actually shooting the ball well. See if we can ride Richardson when others are missing shots. He's 4-5 from beyond the arc in the first half.

some positives out of this....spurs (mainly Ginobli and Parker) look gassed and all that intensity in the beginning is starting to fizzle......the suns are slowly pulling their heads out of their asses and connecting their defense along with getting their up-tempo game going. Problems for both teams are the FTs. If the suns keep up their intensity and match with SA, knock their shots...we are in a good position.
