What does everyone think this squad can reasonably get? 81 was the number last year, do you think we have imporoved since last season? Last year the Giants won the division with 94 wins, I think that same number can win the division again this year.

  • The Dbacks finally got their 3rd baseman in Martin Prado. He's been solid for Atlanta, and I'm glad we got him locked in to a contract.
  • The middle infield is suspiscious. It will be interesting to see how Pennington does. I think we can expect to see a rookie in that position before the end of the year. It seems Aaron Hill has benefited from his move here, hopefully he can keep putting up good numbers.
  • Paul Goldschmidt is ready to have his breakout year. I think he's going to shine at the heart of this lineup and show he's our guy for years to come.
  • I'm not worried about losing JUP in the outfield, It's not like he was an offensive catalyst. I really think Prado will put up better numbers than JUP will this year. And with the outfield cast we have, there's no question in my mind that the outfield won't miss him. I can't wait to see what Adam Eaton will do. Between Parra and Ross, the 3rd spot is solid as well.
  • The PITCHING looks to be a bright spot in 2013. The starting pitching depth is amazing what we have. I look for Miley to back his strong rookie year and really come into his own. If Kennedy can have a bounce back year, that's a solid 1-2 punch. Then the supporting cast is as solid as it's been in years.
  • Finally the bullpen.. I left this for last, because I really don't know how I feel about it.. We've lost a couple peices, we've added a couple peices. Heath Bell is a question mark for me. We know David Hernandez will be a star. HOPEFULLY Putz has some left in the tank, which I'm sure he does for a year or two more.
ALL IN ALL - I think we'll be in the thick of things. If our pitching stays good all year, and our offense comes together, we could be on track for a hot year.

I'm going to say we get 90-95 wins. I'm not too concerened with the Dodgers (Yet, 2-3 years they will be fearsome) The Giants are the team with the target, and they haven't gotten any worse.

A lot of things would have to go right for them to hit 85 wins. Probably too many, honestly.

Not really. We are better than last year.

I'm not trying to be a smartass.. But do you really believe this? I think we got worse.. But admittly, baseball is the sport I am not always up to speed on.. A lot of players to keep track of.. After football and basketball, hard for me to cram more in my brain.. I try though.. Love watching baseball..

Yes, I really do. But then again, I'm not betting my house on it. Just quiet optimism.

Their record last season was slightly weaker than their ancillary stats suggested it should be, which means that the Diamondbacks could pick up a few wins simply by being a little less unlucky this season. Then again, there are no guarantees as we've seen with Eaton and Ross starting the season on the DL.

Plus - 92 Pitching is solid. If the starters can get us to the 7th, I'm betting Bell, Hernandez, and Putz are as good as it gets. The only ? I have is run scoring. Goldy, Prado, Montero need to lead, while we get production from a solid bench. Lets Go Dbacks!

Plus. I'm between 85 and 90
It is ironic. Between the offense, starting staff and bullpen, who would have thought that the biggest variable is probably the starting staff.

The singles-and-doubles lineup and our outstanding bullpen look solid. C'mon starters.

Kennedy looked pretty darn good tonight..... Let's hope the others follow suit! ;)

Very true. I think McCarthys health along with a possible Wade Miley Sophmore slump could be our worst enemies

Plus. Our pitching is ridiculous. The only weak spot in the order is at short. This is a very good team.

Barring any catastrophic injury problems, I predict we bust 90

Plus. We will have 89-95 wins. We finally got rid of all those faulty bats with the holes in them.

And players who think that tape measure jobs include how high you can hit the ball.

A sky-high popup twenty feet from home plate is still only twenty feet from home plate.
