Another gorgeous day up in Flagstaff. Practice was held on the upper fields again as usual. Was nice to see Beanie dressed out and practicing again the very next day after that wicked hit. Alan Faneca was the only veteran that I noticed had the day off.

They started with a light punt return walk through. Then as usual they broke into individual positional drills. Again followed by PR practice but this time they were doing it backed up with the punter kicking from the back of the end zone. Then they switched to the other end of the field again giving graham practice nailing his punts inside the 5 yard line. He does it damn near 9 out of 10 times. He makes it look easy.

During that the QB's were doing their accuracy drills. Both Leinart and Anderson seemed pretty good hitting the mark every time. They were hitting the vertical bar/pad on the goalpost from about 25-30 yards out.

Next was the WR vs CB drills which I played close attention to. All the QB's were throwing to the WR's as they tried to get separation from the CB. Trumaine Mcbride was schooled by Fitz on 3 separate occasions. Twice back to back on the exact same inside out move. Fitz also had a really nice over the outside shoulder 40 yard TD on a perfect throw from Leinart.

Stephen Williams made another really nice grab on a 40 yard pass to the corner of the end zone. He was being covered by Adams who had good position but when your 5'8" vs. 6'5" you don't stand much of a chance. Williams also had two drops as well however and one of them was at the goal line.

Onrea Jones looked fantastic and was catching everything coming his way didn't matter who was covering him.

DRC and Toler were by far the best in coverage. They always seemed from my eyes to be in the right position. but like we have heard many times if you watch football a perfect throw will beat perfect coverage every time.

They started with 11 on 11 again and I'll start out by saying that Matt improved on his performance form yesterday. He was the first QB to go obviously and he started out by overthrowing a wide open Fitz for a sure TD about 25 yards down the left sideline. It was about a yard to long.

Next throw was a nice throw to Breaston on a 10 yard slant pattern. He followed that with a dump off to Hightower that was nearly Int's by the LBer. He finished the drill at this point in time 1-3.

It should be noted that during 11 on 11 each QB seems to get between 3 and 4 reps before the next QB steps in and takes the reigns. I don't list what Skelton or Hall are doing here because quite frankly unless one of them gets past #3 on the depth chart I just dont care. That being said Hall is the more efficient of the two. Sorry.

Anderson was next and he went 2-2 completing a quick 7 yard out to Mougey. Then completed a 7 yard pass in traffic to Max Komar. His third play was a running play.

Matt was back up and went 2-3(should have been 3-3) completing a short 7 yard crossing pattern to Roberts in traffic who made a nice catch. Then he placed a perfect ball over Breastons shoulder about 15 yards down field at the sideline and Breaston just dropped it. He followed that up with another beautiful throw to Breaston about 30 yards deep in the seem. It was an easy TD due to no safety help.

They quit 11 on 11 and started doing the much talked about 7 on 7 drill that we are used to seeing but it was different. It had the CB and LBers but generally it seemed no more than 4 to 5 WR's were going out for passes. Thus more defenders than WR's/RB's.

Matt started it off and went 2-3 for but should have been 3-3 again IMO he opened with completions 10-15 yards each to Fitz and Breaston. Then he threw a ball to on the outside about 8-10 yards from the LOS. Roberts had to dive to the ground to get to the ball. But it did hit his hands and IMO should have been a catch. It wasnt an easy catch but in the NFL you have to make that IMO.

Anderson went 3-3 completing a nice 35 yarder to Stephen Wiliam Short pass in the middle to Komar and a 7 yard out to Gant.

During this drill I noticed Toler pull up on the completion to Gant. He was visibly limping and in some pain. It appeared that maybe his foot got caught in the turf and may have twisted an ankle. However I cannot be sure. He did not return to the drill.

Matt was back up and he went 2-3 starting with 2 medium range out passes to both Komar and Williams. The third pass Daryl Washington mad a beautiful break on the ball intended for the RB. He jumped in front and knocked the ball away.

They started back with 11 on 11. Matt started and went 2-2 Both short dump offs to Hightower and Breaston. The Breaston completion was after a scramble into the middle of the pocket to avoid the rush.

Anderson went 1-2 should have been 2-2 with a beautiful 30 yard out to Jones. The arm strength to throw the 30 yard out is amazing. Then Stephen Williams dropped a ball right in his hands while going over the middle.

Finally saw them practice 11 on 11 but with a twist. This was the two minute drill. They started at the 20 and had to drive 80 yards for the score. Matt went 6-9 in the drill. He looked good on all the completions. The 3 in completions were an obvious intentional grounding, A batted ball at the line and he sailed one over the head of the WR and out of bounds. The unit if heard correctly managed a FG even though they didn't actually kick it. The last play was a 10 yard out toward the left sideline to Fitz who reach up and easily snagged it with one hand. It was like he was showing off. A real thing of beauty.

Overall Matt looked much better today. I just hope that he can stay consistent and wow us in the coming pre season. This franchise NEEDS him to be THAT GUY!

The strange part is that next was not Anderson but Hall. Who went 2-6 throwing an INT to Calvin Jorrick who made a nice play on the ball. Obviously they didn't score.

Unfortunately I had to make my way back to Vegas and I will not be doing anymore of these. I am no expert nor do I claim to be all I have to say is purely opinion and nothing more. I hope you guys enjoyed them. COME ON SATURDAY! :head2head:

Excellent report All Access! This is your last and best so you peaked @ the right time. DA does have a damn strong arm...it's the one thing that stood out to me from him.

Nice to see Matt hitting Fitz on the outside shoulder...had he done that in the red/white he'd have had a TD and a much better day. Please get consistent, 7!

Shane - For us out-of-town fans, these reports were a real treat, thank you! Can we get a post with a photo of this Cards tattoo? I have a mid-life crisis coming up soon and a Cards tattoo sounds about right!
