I am a no.

There are reasons he has been passed up before.

There are reasons he didn't visit us first. We weren't his 1st choice and he wasn't our 1st or 2nd choice.

There is a reason the Horton (Someone he calls a friend) issue was so quickly toxic.

There is a reason Pittsburgh helped him "retire".

Something smells funny to me. But I will try and hope for the best.

Then they are idiotic.

If you rolled in firing Horton to hire Arians, I can see that argument, but I don't buy it.

But anyone thinking Arians is a bad hire, much less laughable, just doesn't get it.

We are gonna see pretty damn quick how old man Arians gets rolled over.. Its gonna happen quick.. All his bravado dont mean jack squat.. He is in over his head..

What are your reasons for despising Bowles?

Especially in this division. We play 6 games a year against 3 mammoth coaches, 3 nasty defenses, and at least 2 O-lines filled with Pro-Bowlers. Not to mention the worst QB situation in the NFL.

The only thing we had to hold back the flood was our defense. Bowles better not screw the pooch there.

Let's face it.... We are the Browns with better weather.

None of us, or the experts, know jack squat about how Arians is going to do. I think jumping up and down over the hiring is as ridiculous as cutting your wrists over it.

Everyone is just blowing out of their bottom hole over how good or bad he's going to do. We Cardinals fans, based on HISTORY, are way too damn optimistic on how we are going to do for the most part. Yeah, there's light at the end of the tunnel, but, based on factual history, we all should know 9 out of 10 seasons that's a damn train, not hope.

Good defense..

Unproven HC
Solid Playcaller on offense.
Horrid QB play.
Solid to great defense.
1 Pro-bowl corner, a good LB'er and no pass rushers.

I think it is a close race.

EXCEPT! They are willing to try big in the last decade. Holmgren was a failure, but at least they jumped off the ledge. We are the kings of "dangling our feet".

How is he in over his head?

He took over a team that went 1-15, with a rookie QB, a ton of new players all young, and a lot put on IR. He went 9-3 with that bunch, and took them to the playoffs.

He isn't in over his head. If anything, he's seen this crap before. One of the biggest concerns you have with OC or DC moving to HC is whether they can actually do the job - here we have a guy who got battle tested in the role and succeeded. That is incredibly valuable knowledge, and makes him a safer pick than guys like Horton or McCoy (both of whom I'd also be fine with).

Besides, the last time he took over for Ken Whisenhunt, he won a Super Bowl in two years. :smiliefan:

Calling it now - Cardinals defeat Chargers for the 2014 Super Bowl title.

Our HC is more proven than theirs. He's done it.

However, their RB is vastly superior to ours, and they have QBs. Nothing good, but better than we got.

Oh, I must've missed Arians was head coach of that team. I guess Whisenhunt must've been head coach of the Steelers for ring #5 for you to be ranking both of them so highly.

I'm cautiously optimistic. We need to fix the Oline, find a RB and a serviceable QB. If we go OL, QB, OL in the draft 1-2-3 we might be decent.

We really aren't that far away - of course, QB is the hardest position to fill, and OL is a lot of positions to fill. We could get a starting quality RB in rnds 4-7.

Looking at pros and cons, Arians shows me more positives than negatives. I don't see enough negatives to make it "laughable" by any stretch.

Except he was a HC last year. Interim HC, calling all the shots. Please. As much as you love Horton, and it's not misplaced, Ray has not had HC experience, nor has he had HC experience and succeeded with it.

He was Steelers OC and got fired.. And that division has a good defense.. Some will say his contract expired.. But he got fired.. Good luck In our division with the defenses we have in ours now..

Second point.. I hated the hire before Horton was let go.. Horton only intensified it..

The colts had two things going for him last season.. Emotion for the coach battling disease and a once in a lifetime QB in Luck..

Add it up dude..

We will get rolled on.. He is in over his head.. And did I hear he guarenteed 8 home wins? Well damn.. haha

You intimated that he got fired because he didn't have Luck though. He had Ben. Why he got fired there is a mystery, but it wasn't because his offense wasn't working.

The Steelers’ red-zone efficiency was dismal at Denver, leaving lots of points on the table in the first quarter. But the Steelers’ defense was pathetic all day, adjusting not one bit as Tim Tebow carved them to ribbons.

Arians is the scapegoat. Defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau is Teflon.

Looking at the regular season, the Steelers were 12th in the NFL in yards gained, just 21st in points. Not a good contrast. But the Steelers’ offense was doubtless hurt by a defense that collected just 15 takeaways, fewest in the league. The offense didn’t get many short fields, or easy points.

Receivers Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown each caught over 1,000 yards worth of passes. Roethlisberger threw for over 4,000. The Steelers sent four offensive players to Pro Bowl. That hadn’t happened since 2004.

You can’t knock the running game, either: It averaged 4.4 yards per carry, the best mark since 2001.

Still, we are arguing laughable. Still haven't seen a damn thing that makes it a laughable pick.

Tomato vs. Tomato.

Maybe our HC is better. I would take their coordinators any day of the week.

And to be honest.... They have a better QB situation than we do.31 versus 32 but still...... Better.

And O-Lines..... Oh mee oh my..... O-Line dominance compared to us.

that's what we get for them choosing the LT of the future and us choosing Levi, and then us deciding to ignore the line in the draft for years since.

Still our biggest problem, by far, IMO.
