Tomas will be our most useful bargaining chip at the trade deadline. Some AL club will need a DH, and we can hopefully get back a reliever of some sort.

I would love to trade Tomas for anything. I just don't know what teams would want him or would want to take on his salary. Here's a real preliminary list of AL teams looking at the playoffs:

Houston - Beltran/Gattis - I think Gattis is better than Tomas
Cleveland - Encarnacion/Santana - both are better than Tomas
Yankees - Matt Holliday (maybe due to injury) Holliday has been real solid this year but is old and an injury risk.
Boston - Hanley Ramirez - Han Ram > Tomas
Rays - Wouldn't want any part of Tomas' salary
Kansas City - Brandon Moss/Jorge Soler (Salary is high but maybe they would take him and use him as 1B when Hosmer leaves as free agent. Can Tomas actually play 1B?)
Twins - Have about 3 DHs (Mauer/Grossman/Vargas) Maybe would take on Tomas' salary.
Seattle - Nelson Cruz - Maybe they would take Tomas and place him at 1B. Can Tomas actually play 1B?

Angels - Pujols is currently at DH/Could move to 1B

I think this is our best bet to take Tomas' contract and provide something in return. Blake Parker has been really good for the Halos this year. Yusmeiro Petit has also been solid and Huston Street is kind of a known quantity. Maybin is an injury risk but has been filling in for Trout in CF.
