he will be on the team this year...he is a great example and mentor for our young guys. I know he will make 5.5 mil. this year but I think he will be worth it. Only a couple of players played well on defense. He will benefit from the help and I project 7-10 sacks. JMO.

I think that Porter and Haggans will provide leadership and be able to execute in Horton's/Le Beaus scheme. They will be coaches on the field and their play may improve since the new scheme will be what they know and probably fit their skill sets better. Porter will get less snaps this year which will help his stamina and improve his productivity IMWO. Based on the draft this year I gotta think that at least one of them is on the team this season.

We can only keep 53 plus the practice squad. So somebody has to go. Now if the Cards want to go mentor/student that guy is Will Davis and Haggans and Porter stick around for another year for OBwan and Macho Acho to watch and alternate.

Age should play a big part in the decision. 35 Year old guys vs 25 year old guys. Keep the older guys over 2nd team younger guys for the experience or go with the younger guys who will be quicker and stronger but not as experienced.

I love Veteran teams but right now the Cards have an opportunity to build a Defense with young guys that could play together for a long time complemented by a handful of older players like Dockett and Rhodes. We could be scary good on defense by 2012.
