I figured after trading Randolf and losing Oden for the year the Blazers would be a pretty sad bunch. San Antonio was in command but the Portland crew played well. Brandon Roy was the only let down but Bowen had a good bit to do with that. Heretofore underachievers Outlaw and Webster stayed under control and were hitting their shots. Aldridge was their big gun - inside, outside and even on the break. Joel Pryzbilla looked much better than I recall him ever looking before. Jarret Jack and Blake looked good.
I don't imagine they'll make it into the playoffs but any team that expects an easy game is in for a rude surprise.
According to the announcers MacMillan wants them to play an uptempo style and you could see they were trying - and doing quite well at times. If Oden comes back and lives up to his hype they could be a formidable team for years - the whole darn bunch is young and Nate seems to have gotten them all on the same page. Defensively, they have a long way to go but I can't imagine Nate not getting them in sync on that end of the floor.
