I figured after trading Randolf and losing Oden for the year the Blazers would be a pretty sad bunch. San Antonio was in command but the Portland crew played well. Brandon Roy was the only let down but Bowen had a good bit to do with that. Heretofore underachievers Outlaw and Webster stayed under control and were hitting their shots. Aldridge was their big gun - inside, outside and even on the break. Joel Pryzbilla looked much better than I recall him ever looking before. Jarret Jack and Blake looked good.

I don't imagine they'll make it into the playoffs but any team that expects an easy game is in for a rude surprise.

According to the announcers MacMillan wants them to play an uptempo style and you could see they were trying - and doing quite well at times. If Oden comes back and lives up to his hype they could be a formidable team for years - the whole darn bunch is young and Nate seems to have gotten them all on the same page. Defensively, they have a long way to go but I can't imagine Nate not getting them in sync on that end of the floor.

Aldridge is going to be a stud.

The Blazers have a bright future ahead of them.

And yes I agree, they played very well even with Roy struggling against Bowen.

Aldridge was picked ONE pick ahead of me in my main fantasy league. Still angry about that one.

Roy didn't even contribute that much, yet they were still somewhat keeping up.

What's so surpising about Portland looking good?

They've had lottery draft picks for how many years now?

They have a solid coach in McMillan. A young stud in Aldridge (who looked fantastic). Martell Webster and Travis Outlaw can flat out score. Brandon Roy is a complete player. Jarrett Jack is a young Marbury. And, they have solid role players (Pryz, Blake, JJ).

This team will be scary in a couple years (w/ Oden). Especially after landing another lottery pick this year.

P.S. Don't forget the deep pockets of Paul Allen.

Rodriguez looks like he is better than Jack and Blake. The guy has some of the tightest handles that I've ever seen.

Sonics are looking good too, from the first half vs. Nugs I watched.

Yeah its going to be fun to watch the blazers grow i'm a big fan of Aldrige and pairing him with Oden will make a deadly duo in the near future.
