Now wait a second there. Would I trade 2 first rounders for Tracy McGrady? You're damn right I would.

Would I give 2 first rounders to the Bobcats to take Eisley's contract from us? Hell no.

But we might be able to sign McGrady if we give those two draft picks away to get rid of Eisley! Maybe send the other pojected one to get rid of White if we have to and we're able to?

I think we could sign him if we had the money we're losing by keeping those guys. I don't think we can with them. Is my logic wrong?

McGrady still has 3 years remaining on his contract, so no, I don't think we have a chance to sign him. It would have to be a trade. Unless you'd like to wait till summer 2006.

Who told me we could get him? lol... Darn :( logically I didn't think he was available for free agency with Kobe but I thought someone mentioned it and how Kobe would be better because he doesn't have a bad back... Well then I guess the biggest reason to trade all of those picks to dump salary would be to get Kobe then.

We would have to trade for McGrady and I doubt trading our three picks with Eisley and White would work.

TMac has an opt out clause for the summer of 2005. Now while most players dont choose to opt out, since they will most likely loose money, TMac won't. He will command a max salary no matter where he goes.

With the current and past state of the Magic, I think he will opt out. Either to resign a longer deal witht he Magic, or to move to another team.

I already put in my 2 cents about the draft picks in the other thread. I agree almost completely with Chap on it (I actually think it is kind of a no brainer)

Here's something strange, after that 36-point first half, it appears that he was held scoreless in the 3rd quarter.

Sounds like he might be injured. His back, perhaps?? ;)

There are too many unknown factors right now to take too much of a stance for or against trading 2 1st's to get rid of Eisley. Since many here are of the belief that adding a Kobe or T-Mac is the one move that could make the Suns contenders, than trading those picks is worth the risk in order to have a shot at them. (Kobe in 2004, or T-Mac possibly in 2005). But if the salary cap goes up significantly and Jahidi White gets picked up in expansion, the Suns would have the same shot at those players without giving up nearly as much.

I'm in favor of doing anything to put us in the position of getting Kobe or T-Mac, including trading picks. But if the Bobcats take White, it might not even be an issue.

For the record, I am not in favor of trading both picks just to have the POSSIBILITY of getting Kobe Bryant. The only way I would trade both picks is if we're getting Kobe Bryant or Tracy McGrady IN RETURN.

Draft picks are way too valuable to trade them away on the hope that we'll be able to sign Bryant or trade for McGrady.

Trading the picks in return for one of those two isn't a possibility.

Again, we're dealing in hypothetical, and this might not even be a situation that comes up. But I guess you have to ask yourself, if all else fails, would you take yourself out of the running for a Kobe or T-Mac just to save a couple of middle first round picks? As a fan of the Suns since the beginning whose only seen this team with one superstar of that magnatude (Barkley), I think it's worth the risk. But that's just my opinion.

I would like to go back and look at past drafts to see how valuable most picks have become. We have been extremely lucky with our picks. Hasn't there even been years where there wasn't even one really good player in the draft? Look at how many players are in the league and how many are drafted. A know ncommidity has to be more valuable than that. Especially when we're talking about Kobe and even if we don't get him we'll have enough money availble to go after other players that we know will fare well in the NBA.

Well, TMac doesn't even count in this discussion because he can't be signed as a free agent.

But to the rest, you're twisting things around. If I had the CHOICE of having Kobe Bryant OR 2 mid-first rounders, well, that's a no-brainer. I'd choose Bryant.

But here's the thing--that will NEVER be a choice--there isn't even the possibility of that happening just by virtue of the time frame of the draft and free agency signing period.

But I also don't see how getting rid of both draft picks, even if it is to get rid of Eisley or White is any better because we lose all leverage we've ever had. I'm more than willing to give up one of them, maybe even the better of the two if it helps us to get Kobe Bryant, but then again, what if he DOESN'T sign with the Suns? Then all of a sudden we got rid of our top draft pick with nothing to show for it.
