I don't think I'd do it. Between his injury issues as his body continues to break down plus the extra year on his contract (compared to Beal), I wouldn't risk it. But having said that, if we did it and IF he just happened to be healthy for the postseason, we'd have a legit chance to win it all. Maybe even be the favorites.

This is where the Suns are at, again, looking for a Hail Mary pass to save them.

This Embiid idea isn't rage bait.

I honestly think that the Embiid contract is going to completely screw the Sixers, it's a terrible deal for a dude that might be unable to play in a couple years. He probably has the WORST contract in the NBA right now, just people have not realized it yet.

Beal meanwhile... he has the second worst contract, but we are all in, and have no hope to compete for years and years. Embiid would give us a microcosm of hope, while at the same time bailing the Sixers out of 2 years of Embiids max deal if they swapped him for Beal, they are in even worse shape than we are currently, but they have their own picks and the option of bottoming out.

This would be the true "all in". A team that would actually have a chance to win on the extremely slim chance they're healthy, unlike our current squad. But the trade would probably be more likely if we still had our 2031 pick instead of our expanded options of 3 terrible picks.
I feel there are two easy to identify contracts worse than Beal's - that being Kawahi and Embid - because I think both of their career's are nearly over due to health.

This would be stupidity. The fact that Philly would even entertain it should tell you how stupid the idea is.

How often does a hail mary work - even if we go with that analogy - which I think is quite generous.

It's an act of desperation, not of sound decision making. Nobody should defend Ishbia if he makes such a move.

We all know the odds are low to win it all because there can only be one champ per season.

Count the picks we had, and how many of them were goods picks? How many did Charlotte and Washing have, and how many of them panned out?

There are a ton of factors but saying we have no chance at a title for the next 7 to 8 years based of a 2031 pick is just taking it too far.
How many of them are good picks - well probably about all of them - surely the 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31 picks - because we are going to suck.

I am not saying it's just because of the 2031 pick, I am saying trading it moves the timeline out at least one more year.

Just read Nance and filler for Nurk is a possibility.

That's not bad at all if true. Nance is an expiring, but has actually been very productive in the few minutes he has played this year.

Window dressing at best. Nothing really changes with this team with the loser combo of KD/Booker as the team’s leaders/shot creators.

You think I don't know that?

I am just commenting on that particular trade. Obviously that alone isn't going to make us contenders. If you have been listening to me, I think I have said clearly I don't think anything can do that with KD being the center of our offense.

It's more about it will make them slightly more interesting to watch during the rest of this season, which I know I will do even though I know the team is going nowhere.

I’d rather not waste draft capital just to make the team miniscule-y more entertaining and we ain’t getting rid of Nurk without attaching a first round pick.

Also, you single out KD, but nothing really changes until Booker’s gone also. Neither of those guys are foundational pieces of a title contender as the number 1 of their team and Booker’s value will never be higher than it is after this season.

I don't think anyone would argue the point, but this seems to be where the Suns are.

It gets his contract off the books as well.

You are probably right on Booker. But I don't think contention is even a possibility for years.

The best move would probably be to deal him also, but I have a feeling if he wants to stay still, Ishbia will want him to stay.

Yeah… I think Ishbia would make that mistake too.

I'm very much in the trade Booker camp but not so much because I'm giving up on him. I just think, with the hole we are in, trading Devin to earn back some assets is our best chance to work our way out of that hole. Given our assets, I don't believe there's any possible way to put together a complete team that can challenge for a title so I see no reason to waste Booker's best seasons.

Yes, it's not like we're dumping him, rather we are setting him free

Sentimentally I want to keep him, and flip Durant and Beal for something with more promise, so we have a shot at another finals run with Booker. I just hope he's over the deciding game meltdown sickness.

I really like Nance. He's 6'7" I believe, maybe 6'8", but he's got hops and has played plenty of small ball Center.

He won't make us legit but he's fun to watch. Being a second generation Sun is cool too.

Looking at Hawks roster, the filler is likely Zeller. With 1 FRP + Nurk, for Nance + Zeller, it's definitely improvement.

nurk looks to be more and more untradable - only way we're going to accomplish this is by adding draft picks or forcing him in on a multi team trade à la jae crowder

beal wants to play in the playoffs - it's why he accepted the trade - if we really want to move him it's obvious it would have to be to a playoff team - and preferably in a warm climate - that's how you trade bradley beal - because he's only going to trade up

but those teams don't want beal - they don't want nurk or our 87th picks in the first rounds

so i think im starting to prepare myself for something crazy - i mean who knows with ish - all we know he's okay with making big changes when ish clearly isn't working

again - what else do we have - greyson and dunn are likely the most desirable but what if ish does do the unthinkable?

idk - but im bracing myself for impact because something tells me ish refuses to miss the playoffs considering we don't have any draft picks - so it might be all or nothing AGAIN with this man

Okay, you got that base covered. I will cover the other option, that he will play cool and not do anything crazy/major until after the season. Then one of us must be right and this board once again proves it knows everything.

i don't think ish wants to miss the playoffs and the lottery in the same season - not sure he could handle it
