For Linderbee :)
Give it a try - definitely not the same old Rush....
The lyrics are special to me.

For the drummers out there. Dream Theater has had a couple of the greats (as per my wanna-be crummer son).
Here is a 14-yr-old covering Metropolis!

I would not want to be the band that follows that! :notworthy:
I heard that they opened for the Stones once and blew them away.

And in 3 1/2 months later their plane would crash killing founder Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist/vocalist Steve Gaines, backing vocalist Cassie Gaines, assistant road manager Dean Kilpatrick, pilot Walter McCreary, and copilot William Gray.

Damn, that's a hell of a line up. Still, there's no way to match that energy.

And the opening of the Free Bird lyrics Ronnie Van Zant sang were:

"If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?"

3 months after this concert he was gone at the age of 29.

Watching the Bud Light commericals had me wondering who was the person playing the Piano to "Sweet child o mine?"

My nephew can play the piano effortlessly like this. It's something I will NEVER be able to wrap my head around. I can't get my hands to move that independently from each other--not no way, not no how. Not keeping a melody, etc. It's crazy to me.

Ive watched a ton of this ladies videos before. This is arguably one of her best covers, and its because its the most true-to-original cover.

Her problem is that shes such a high level Avant-garde piano player, that she often goes off script and adds or changes parts of the song.

Then im that guy in the crowd like " DO IT RIGHT! THATS NOT HOW IT GOES!" lol

Back in the mid-70's, Gaines played in a band called Crawdad, from Joplin, Mo. A friend of mine who managed a club called The Ranch in Galena, KS took me to his home one night and introduced me. He lived with two other members of the band in a two-room shack/motel with no furniture. They crashed on the floor, ate on the floor and slept on the floor.

I met him a couple more times at The Ranch but I'm pretty sure he was in no shape to remember me. :) Great guitarist and a pretty nice guy, if memory serves.

Interestingly enough, Kansas used to play at the same club before becoming famous. It was just a little hole-in-the-wall, rock and roll club but it always served for a great time. Soon after, disco took over all the small clubs but The Ranch went country. Wow, memories.

One of my five alltime, favorite guitarist from (in my opinion) one of the most underrated bands in music history.

That was great. Dude can wail on the guitar. Bass line was pretty sick too.

Yes, that was Mike Porcaro and was playing there, just prior to being diagnosed with ALS. He played for a few years more despite numbness in his fingers.

That's very sad. Losing the ability to do the thing you love and excel at would be so hard.
