I don't know. I think that we added the best player to our OL, which will make everyone else better and improve the offense marginally on every down.

I don't know how you could characterize Palmer as only "arguably" an upgrade. Maybe it's not a clear upgrade over Kolb (and I'm guessing this is where the argument comes from), but Kolb can't play a half-dozen games in a row. He's a clear, massive upgrade over Lindley and Skelton.

I'm not sure the Cards added 10 ppg to the offense, but I think we managed 5 or 6, at least.

IMO, it's really, really difficult to evaluate the offensive skill position players when the QBs were so utterly dreadful for the entire year. I watched the film, and defenses were playing us with one-high safety and everyone else within seven yards of the LOS, and the offense couldn't do anything to capitalize on that. Our quarterbacks were so terrible.

Yeah, to me the offense is still a mystery. Our QB situation was so bad last year that Fitzgerald struggled which says something. That being said, we still don't know how much improved QB will benefit Roberts, Floyd and Housler. Will the running game improve enough to bring safeties up in the box? Will the addition of Cooper and two-TE sets bring the offensive line together or will it just highlight other weak players?

In the end, QBs normally make all of the difference. I have to believe that, given time, Palmer can be a top 15 QB if Fitzgerald, Floyd, Roberts and Housler are the players that they should be. The biggest question marks are the offensive line, MIchael Floyd and Rob Housler for me. Personally, I think the offensive line will still struggle at times, but will be more consistent. As for Floyd and Housler, if they can't flourish with a competant QB and Fitzgerald on the field, they aren't made for this league.

Don't overlook that the Cards had a RB go over a 1000 yards, score 10 rushing TDs and average over 4 yards per carry just two seasons ago with Rex Hadnot at RG and Bridges and Keith at RT. With terrible QB play.

Supposedly the team has upgraded the RB position, the QB position, the right side of the offensive line, and jettisoned the coaches who thought it was against the rules to run the footbal,l so we should see a better offense that can improve on last year's group scoring less than 20 points in 11 of 16 games.

Now about the Defense. :(

Sad part is that the 5 games in which they scored 20 or more are also the 5 games that they won. Goes to show that with a mediocre offense last year this team would likely have won quite a few games. Maybe even more than 10.
