Nice job, bg7brd!

At first I wondered if the Rams would be gambling too much to trade down to #3...Detroint won't be taking a QB, but someone could trade up into their spot, especially a team that senses the Rams will be taking a QB there...but I like the boldness of the move.

Good Move: Tabbing TE Jermaine Gresham for the Pats. Great thinking there.

Tell Me Why: The Giants would draft Taylor Mays having used their '08 1st rounder on Kenny Phillips.

Could Surprise: T Anthony Davis...you and I both have him in the Top 10.

Plus, you and I want the same guy: Sean Weatherspoon. But, I think he's now a Top 25 pick. But, like AF said, ILBers tend to fall in the draft.

I've heard rumours that his career might be over.

T.J.'s mock (mock me all you want)

1. STL: Ndamunkong Suh, DT, Nebraska. Arguably the best defensive player ever in college. This is one of those guys you just can't pass on even if you need a QB. St. Louis will get a QB in the 2nd round probably

2. DET: Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State. They got the franchise QB last season. They need the franchise blocker to keep him healthy and upright. Okung is very well rounded.

3. TB: Eric Berry, S, Tennessee. Agree with you here Mitch. Tampa is all about defense and this is another can't miss guy

4. WASH: Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame. The Jason Campbell love ends here. Clausen can step in mid season if need be and make this team decent. Possibly relevant in the near future. He is arguably the most pro ready QB in the draft

5. KC: Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma St. KC could not get to the QB at all last season and someone like G. McCoy can blow up the interior.

6. SEA: C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson OMFG this kid is amazing and will scare the crap out of me in the NFC West! By far the most talented and quickest RB in the draft. Chris Johnson anyone? Nobody respected the Hawk's running game last season. Spiller will open it up for Hasselbeck, Burlesson and Whoseyourmomma

7. CLE: Joe Haden, CB, Florida. This team needs help in virtually every position. I can't name one of their corners. They will be drafting a lot of defense this season. Haden is best defensive player available.

8. OAK: Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State. It's so unpredictable what old man Al will do. Not surprised if he picks a WR to compensate for his blunder of Heyward-Bay. He is determined to make something out of nothing (or nothing out of something) out of JaMarcus Russell.

9. BUF: Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma. Losman = fail. Edwards = fail. If Bradford comes back 100% from shoulder surgery, this is the QBoF for Buffalo.

10. DEN: Rolando McClain, LB, Alabama Excellent run stopper. Will partner up with Elvis Dumerville to add fear into a LB corp that already looks good. I can possibly see this pick getting traded with a team who wants another impact player.

11. JAX: Earl Thomas, S, Texas. A bit of a reach here, but with pass happy teams like IND and HOU, they need better pass coverage

12. MIA: Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, South Florida Many have this guy rising to the top. If Porter leaves, he can slide to OLB. Or, spell an aging Jason Taylor

13. SF: Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers SF had troubles protecting whatever QB they had behind center. Best tackle available here.

14. SEA: Everson Griffen, DE, USC. Pete Carrol gets one of his

15. NYG: Brian Price, DT, UCLA NYG has to be disgusted with their defense last season. They could go secondary here, but they pride themself on getting to the QB with a four-man front. This guy rocked the interior in the PAC 10 knocking out RBs and QBs.

16. SF: Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech Another team that prides themself on defense. They did a great job last season but the fat get fatter. He should be a top-10 but because of other needs from the other teams, he drops. I don't expect a guy like Morgan to slip by a Singletary led team.

17. TEN: Dan Williams, DT, Tennessee You could tell they missed Haynesworth last season. They get an opportunity to pick up one up here. Big man who will get double teamed and allow ends and LBs to get to the QB. Pass rush in this division is crucial.

18. PIT: Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma PIT is not happy with their offensive line. They are just fine on defense if they re-sign Hampton and get production from last years pick Ziggy Hood.

19. ATL: Sergio Kindle, OLB, Texas. Pains me to say that ATL will take him here. He is the prototypical 3-4 OLB. Be perfect for the Cards but is not going to slide that far.

20. HOU: Taylor Mays, S, USC This defense is close to being top 10. They need so solidify their secondary. Mays, IMO, will be the best safety in the draft but won't be considered until here.

21. CIN: Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma Palmer and Co. get another offensive weapon. They already have one stud receiver and one stud RB, why not a TE to boot?

22. NE: Sean Weatherspoon, LB, Missouri Defense, especially linebackers, was inefficient last season.

23. GB: Charles Brown, OT, USC Rodgers got sacked way too much for GB's liking. Brown can block on the right or left, possibly challenging Clifton for a spot.

24. PHI: Jared Odrick, DE, Penn St. Versatille lineman who can hit all of the gaps. He can reek havoc for NFC East QBs and help in the 4-6 defense by freeing up linebackers

25. BAL: Arrelious Benn, WR, Illinois, Derrick Mason is getting long in the tooth and it has been proven that Flacco performs better with two good receivers than one. I think Mason retires or gets cut.

26. ARZ: Terrence Cody, NT, Alabama Robinson is out of position, Watson's knee does not seem right and Branch is going to be a permanent DE. This leaves a gaping hole in the position. I know we all want OLB here; however, Cody can help guys like Dockett and Campbell get to the QB. I love NTs that can blow up the A gaps and believe all 3-4 defenses need a dominant one. See Kris Jenkins for the NYJ

27. DAL: Morgan Burnett, S, Georgia Tech Huge reach here, but Dallas needs safety help in the worst way. "Jerruh", who is known for trading down for more picks, might just do that this time

28. SD: Jonathan Dwyer, RB, Georgia Tech. LT is gone and Sproles is too small to be an every down back

29. NYJ: Brandon Graham, DE/OLB, Michigan - "Sexy" Rexy can't help put load up his already vaunted defense. Graham being versatille can make an immediate impact for the team.

30. MIN: Colt McCoy, QB, Texas Favre leaves (finally) and if he doesn't, McCoy can still be groomed for the following season.

31. IND: LaMarr Houston, DT, Texas Indy has little weaknesses, but can be run against easily at times. Houston provides the ability to break through the line and lead runningbacks towards Freeny and Mathis.

32. NO. Chad Jones, S, LSU Sharper will probably retire after a Superbowl victory. Louisiana product that the team and fans will appreciate. Balanced tackler and pass coverer.

I'll give it a shot. I like this kind of thing. And don't call me assface :ais: :D.

STL: Jimmy Clausen: they have to get a QB. I'm not a huge Clausen fan but they have to get a building block.

DET: Ndamukun Suh: the Lions benefit from Stl's need pick and get the best prospect in the draft.

TB: Gerald McCoy: they were'nt happy with t how Gaines Adams turned out but they give DL another try.

WAS: Russell Okung: Shanny goes with Campbell for this year and builds his OL. He'll start from day 1, think Clady in Denver.

KC: Eric Berry: Pioli wanted an OL but Berry is the best prospect and gives the defense an elite talent.

SEA: Derrick Morgan: Seattle needs to generate a pass rush. I could also see Petey going with Everson Griffin here.

CLE: Joe Haden: every mock has Haden to Cleveland.

OAK: Bruce Campbell: once Al sees Campbell run a sub 5.0 40 at 6'7 300+, this pick is a lock.

BUFF: Sam Bradford: He falls right into their laps. Edwards hasn't been the same since meeting AW.

DEN: Rolondo McClain: i think he has to be the pick here, best player at a need positin.

JAX: Dez Bryant: they are releasing Holt and desperately need to find a go to #1 WR. Sims-Walker is a good #2.

MIA: Jason Pierre-Paul: Parcells loves big, athletic pass rushers. JPP is a phenomenal looking prospect.

SF: Anthony Davis: can put him with Staley, Baas, and the crew to start the makings of a very good young OL.

SEA: CJ Spiller: Carroll learned at USC that you need a couple good RB's. Spiller is the best in this draft.

NYG: Carlos Dunlap: they need secondary help, but a good pass rush will help out just as much. Plus, with Osi whining, he could be his successor.

SF: Taylor Mayes : Singletary is sick of seeing AW terrorize his offense so he drafts his version of AW.

TENN: Everson Griffin: Fisher goes to his USC roots and grabe a good looking DE prospect that is badly needed on the Titans.

PITT: Mike Iupati: he just seems a natural Steeler to me, a run mauling guard.

ATL: Earl Thomas: they need secondary help. Thomas can be a CB or a FS.

HOU: Jonathon Dwyer: i have no idea where Hou will go with this pick so i chose the best RB available.

CIN: Jared Odrick: he's a high motor guy that the Bengals want and need. Plus, i think he some shady off field issues so he fits the Bengals profile.

NE: Dan Williams: after they let Wilfork go(signed by Arizona) they draft his replacement.

GB: Trent Williams: this pick will be an OL. Williams is a god RT prospect. Could go with Bulaga as well.

PHI: Brian Price : big, productive DL that Andy Reid loves. Had a great year at UCLA.

BAL: Jermaine Gresham: Todd Heap can't stay healthy and Ozzie Newsome has to know what a TE like Gresham can do for a young QB like Flacco.

ARI: Bryan Bulaga: if he's there, he'd have to be the choice. Pencil him in at LT and leave Levi at RT. The Cards would be set a the OT position for years.

DALL: Sergio Kindle: Jones goes with the Texas LB. Brooking is going to be 35 and Carpenter is nothing special.

SD: Terence Cody: Jamal Williams is getting old and hurt. Cody could ease his loss.

NYJ: Brandon LaFell: they give Sanchez another target. LaFell would be a huge value this late.

MINN: Brandon Spikes: their MLB went down last year in a horrible injury. Spikes could step in fill the hole.

IND: Brandon Graham: just what Indy needs, another speed guy off the edge. He'd be a great addition to this defense.

NO: Sean Weatherspoon: he'll bring another speedy, high energy LB to their defense.

27) Dallas - Mike Iupati OG
The Cowboys get a big value pick here that fills a need.

Dallas has BIG on one side and Kosier on the other. Why would they want Iupati?

Of course having seen Iupati play I'd guess just about any team would want him no matter who they had playing Offensive Guard.

Iupati and Latui. Man, Beanie would rush for 2000.

I like your mock. Good work my man!

The only thing is if Sergio Kindle is still on the board at #26 (you have him @ #27), I don't see how the Cards can pass on him. He fits the 3-4 OLB mold like a glove

Plus, the Cards have Keith and H. Johnson they want to work in. Im sure they will be going after O-line in the 2nd day

OAK:

I agree this is how the top 7 plays out, and who knows what OAK will do?

The only exception may be that StL trades out of the 1st spot to whoever makes the best offer for Suh. Look for it to be one of the top 10 teams in the draft order.

KC and Seattle may flip their picks with KC going after the DLman. It'll be interesting, but look for a trade of that top pick.

Love the pick but doubt he'll be there. Maybe Trent Williams or the USC tackle will be but not him. We'll go DE/OLB mtl. I'm thinking Graham or Hughes with a CB Robinson being a dark horse or if another one rises up like Butler did last year.

I know Dallas would love to tap Iupati. We could mess them up royaly. But I don't think either of them are true (Lutui, Iupati) LG's, the kind Grimm likes.

I love the draft and mock drafts especially so here I go...

1. STL: Ndamunkong Suh, DT, Nebraska.
-Playmaker at a position not known for it. Best player in the draft.
2. DET: Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma.
-Another playmaker inside. Depth at DE allows Detroit to take an impact DT here.
3. TB: Eric Berry, S, Tennessee.
-Truly best player available.
4. WASH: Anthony Davis, T, Rutgers.
-Athletic left tackle from a small school, sounds like someone Shannahan drafted before.
5. KC: Russell Okung, T, Oklahoma St.
-The Chiefs like what they have in Cassell, J Charles, & D Bowe. Okung helps them all be better.
6. SEA: Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech.
-All around defensive end to replace Patrick Kerney.
7. CLE: Joe Haden, CB, Florida.
-I would not be surprised if Haden gets picked earlier.
8. OAK: Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, South Florida.
-Freak athlete who should have great workout numbers. Seems like Davis' cup o tea.
9. BUF: Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame.
-Clausen has the arm and the rep to draw fans to Buffalo.
10. DEN: Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma St.
-Pencil this in if Brandon Marshall leaves in the offseason.
11. JAX: Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma.
-Garrard has run out of excuses. Del Rio won't be around to see this pay off.
12. MIA: Sergio Kindle, OLB, Texas.
-He will provide youth outside and keep the Dolphins pass rush fresh.
13. SF: Trent Williams, T, Oklahoma.
-Eventually they will have to protect their QB to be able to push the ball downfield.
14. SEA: Taylor Mays, FS, USC.
-He needs to get become a better football player, but the athleticism is too good to pass up.
15. NYG: Carlos Dunlap, DE, Florida.
-Their front 4 didn't generate the pass rush that they wanted.
16. SF: Patrick Robinson, CB, Florida St.
-Clements is getting old and there isn't much depth after. Robinson is tough and can play man coverage as needed in the 3-4.
17. TEN: Roloando McClain, LB, Alabama.
-Replaces Keith Bulluck, and keeps Fisher's defense clicking.
18. PIT: Dan Williams, NT, Tennessee.
-Pittsburgh has a habit of letting aging vets go and replacing them with guys in the draft. NT is a position that wears guys down.
19. ATL: Brandon Graham, DE, Michigan.
-Once again they try and find a guy to get to the QB.
20. HOU: Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise St.
-Smart corner who will be needed to slow down the Colts.
21. CIN: Brian Price, DT, UCLA.
-Another player who can push the pocket inside, for an improving defense.
22. NE: Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma.
-Despite their needs on defense, they will take the weapon at TE that they thought Ben Watson was.
23. GB: Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa.
-The Packers got better when their line played better. They can't keep counting on Tauscher.
24. PHI: Everson Griffen, DE, USC.
-Philly needs a pass rusher up front to team with Cole.
25. BAL: Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame.
-They need someone to go with Flacco's cannon arm.
26. ARZ: Sean Weatherspoon, LB, Missouri.
-They need an inside linebacker and a leader on defense.
27. DAL: Vladamir Ducasse, OT, Mass.
-They are getting old at the tackles and Ducasse has the athleticism they need.
28. SD: C.J. Spiller, RB/KR, Clemson.
-Both LT and Sproles are gone. Spiller brings back playmaking to the RB position in San Diego, and fills in on kickoffs.
29. NYJ: Mardy Gilyard, WR, Cincinnati.
-A more reliable weapon down the field than B Edwards.
30. MIN: Earl Thomas, CB/S, Texas.
-Minnesota likes physicality at CB.
31. IND: Daryl Washington, LB, TCU.
-Fast, undersized linebacker who will make plays on the turf.
32. NO: Jared Odrick, DT, Penn. St.
-Will get more push up front and is versatile enough to move around in G Williams defense.

Surprise
1 St. Louis
Ndamukong Suh DT
Nebraska
Suh is by far the best player available in the draft. If there was a clear cut standout QB then I think the Rams would go that direction but the gap is just to big between Suh and the top QBs.

2 Detroit
Gerald McCoy DT
Oklahoma
McCoy is an intense, powerful, and explosive player on the defensive line. Detroit could also use some help on the Offensive Line.

3 Tampa Bay
Eric Berry FS
Tennessee
Tampa Bay would love to land one of the top 2 DTs. Eric Berry is a nice consolation prize, he is a dynamic playmaker with all around skills.

4 Washington
Sam Bradford QB
Oklahoma
Shanahan will want to hand pick the leader of his offense. If Bradford's shoulder tests out then he could very well be the guy. Washington also has some glaring needs on the offensive line that could also be addressed here.

5 Kansas City
Russell Okung OT
Oklahoma State
Kansas City will look to shore up their Offensive line with the number one Tackle in the draft. If one of the top 3 Defensive players somehow drop down then they could also be a strong possibility.

6 Seattle
Jimmy Clausen QB
Notre Dame
Carroll will look for a long term solution at the QB position. A franchise Left Tackle as well as a RB are also needs that Seattle will look to shore up with their second early first round pick.

7 Cleveland
Joe Haden CB
Florida
The Browns have several holes to fill and with 4 picks in the first 3 rounds they can afford to look for the best player available and not reach for need. Haden is the consensus number one CB and will help the struggling Brown's defense.

8 Oakland
Bruce Campbell OT
Maryland
With Al Davis making the pick who knows what they will do. The safest pick is to figure out whoever is the fastest player in the draft, but with huge needs on the Offensive line I will predict that they just go with the fastest Offensive Tackle available.

9 Buffalo
Bryan Bulaga OT
Iowa
I thought Buffalo would fill its huge need for an Offensive Tackle in last years draft when they had 2 first round picks but they didn't. If they overlook the obvious need again this year then Quarterback, Defensive Line or Linebacker are also possibilities.

10 Denver f/Chi
Dez Bryant WR
Oklahoma State
If the Broncos trade Marshall then WR will be a huge whole that will need to be filled. Depending on what they get in return for the trade Defensive End or a Middle Linebacker are also possibilities.

11 Jacksonville
Derrick Morgan DE
Georgia Tech
Jacksonville needs to bolster their pass rush and Morgan is this years best pass rusher. I keep hearing Tebow's name associated with Jacksonville but I don't believe there is any circumstance that sees him go this high. Jacksonville could also use a WR or a Safety.

12 Miami
Rolando McClain LB
Alabama
Miami could use an upgrade at the Middle Linebacker spot and McClain would fit in nicely. Parcells has a pension for drafting Linebackers. A pass rushing LB, a Defensive Tackle or a WR are also needs for Miami.

13 San Francisco
Anthony Davis OT
Rutgers
Joe Staley is set at left tackle. Davis will bookend the right side and help solidify the line. With 2 picks in the first round the 49ers could also a pass rusher or possibly a RB to team with Gore.

14 Seattle f/Den
Trent Williams OT
Oklahoma
After selecting a QB with their first pick Seattle will look to bolster the line to protect him. If they use their first pick on an OT then they could look at the Defensive Line a Running Back, or passably a Safety.

15 New York
Earl Thomas FS/SS
Texas
Kenny Phillips is coming off of a serious knee injury and New York could look to bolster their Secondary. A Linebacker is also a serious possibility.

16 San Francisco f/Car
Sergio Kindle LB
Texas
The second of two first round choices, Sergio Kindle will help bolster the 49ers pass rush. Teaming CJ Spiller with Gore is also a possibility here as well as adding help at the Safety position.

17 Tennessee
Carlos Dunlap DE
Florida
Dunlap has had some off the field problems that could cause him to slide. Tennessee needs to add some youth to their pass rushers. Look for a pass rusher to climb the charts after the combine to take this spot. a DT, CB and WR are also needs that may be filled at this spot.

18 Pittsburgh
Taylor Mays FS
USC
Could a USC alumni connection between Mays and Palamalu roam the secondary for the Steelers? CB, DT, and Offensive Line help are also possibilities.

19 Atlanta
Patrick Robinson CB
Florida State
Cornerback, Defensive End and Outside Linebacker are the biggest needs for Atlanta. Robinson is a physical CB that has shown good instincts.

20 Houston
Brian Price DT
UCLA
A power Runningback is a team with Slaton is a strong possibility here with Dwyer still on the board. Texans have always valued Defensive Linemen in the draft and Price is great value at the #20 spot. Help in the Secondary is also a team need.

21 Cincinnati
Jermaine Gresham TE
Oklahoma
Even though the Bengals drafted Chase Coffman in the third round last year Gresham is a rare talent at the TE position. Cincinnati could also use a WR, ILB or a Safety.

22 New England
Sean Weatherspoon OB
Missouri
The Patriots love smart, and active playmakers on Defense and Weatherspoon fits that bill. Weatherspoon is versatile enough to play in any scheme, inside or outside. The Patriots could also look at a Defensive End, a RB is also an outside possibility.

23 Green Bay
Mike Iupati OG/OT
Idaho
Iupati excels as a run blocker and is very physical. He is most natural at the Left Guard position but some scouts think he could transition to the Tackle position. The Packers also needs help at Cornerback, safety and possibly another OLB.

24 Philadelphia
Corey Wooten DE
Northwestern
The Eagles have a huge need at the DE position, and Wooten is the highest rated DE still on the board. The Eagles could also use help at the MLB position.

25 Baltimore
Arrelious Benn WR
Illinois
Benn is a big talented receiver whose production suffered this past year due to the inconsistency at QB. Baltimore could also use help at the Cornerback position.

26 Arizona
Jerry Hughes LB
TCU
The Cardinals need an outside linebacker/pass rusher and Hughes fits the bill. The Cardinals could also look OT if someone slides, but a pass rusher is clearly their biggest need.

27 Dallas
Dan Williams DT
Tennessee
Dan Williams is the BPA pick for the Cowboys. Dallas could use some help at the Offensive Tackle position, but with the big 5 gone Williams is too good of a talent to pass up.

28 San Diego
CJ Spiller RB
Clemson
Ladainian Tomlinson's days are numbered in San Diego. CJ Spiller is an explosive player that makes up for his lack in size with speed and elusiveness. Offensive Tackle and Defensive End are also possibilities.

29 New York
Golden Tate WR
Notre Dame
Even if the Jets retain Braylon Edwards I think they need a long term solution at WR. Tate lacks ideal height but great ball skills and reliable hands. The Jets could also look at Offensive Guard, Defensive end, or a Cornerback to team with Revis.

30 Minnesota
Donovan Warren CB
Michigan
The Vikings need upgrades at the Cornerback position as well as at Offensive Guard. Warren is a bigger corner that is a solid tackler tackler and shows very good ball skills.

31 Indianapolis
Jared Odrick DT
Penn State
Indianapolis needs some help on the DT line . Odrick was the Big-10 Defensive Lineman of the Year. He is a physical and competitive player that will fit in nicely with the colts defense

32 New Orleans
Everson Griffen DE
USC
Look for New Orleans to address the Defensive side of the ball early in the draft. Defensive End, Outside LB, Defensive Tackle and the Secondary could all use upgrades. Griffin's production didn't match his talent in college but has tons of upside still.

My first round pick is Brandon Graham. Sign Vince Wilfolk and Demeco Ryans and watch the Cards have the best defense in the NFL. There is my dream offseason for the defense.

That would be a dream off season but because of the CBA that couldn't happen. It sucks that most top guys that would have been UFA's this year will now be RFA's.

Probably will be the most interesting free agency period in years.
