Well, for the Illini... that one's not too hard to come up with.

How about the #1 overall selection of the 1990 draft, Jeff George?

I'm sure some Cardinal fans would argue that the #3 selection in 1996, Simeon Rice, falls into that category.

As for value... how about 3rd round selection Ray Nitschke by Green Bay in 1966?

Starting LT for the NYG is David Diehl, who was taken in Round 5 of the 2003 draft - he's been an every-game starter on the NYG line since he was drafted.

true. and a syracuse steal would be tanard jackson. 4th round safety for the Bucs. hurt the cardinals when we played them 2 years ago.

Stephen F Austin St doesn't have a long list of NFL drafts but I guess Mikhael Ricks could be a bust considering he was a second pick who only caught 155 passes in a seven year career.

The pride of the lumberjacks though is Jeremiah Trotter, a ten year vet and four time pro bowler.

NAU has had three players taken in the first three rounds. Rich O'Hara in 1968 (Rd 3), Pete Mandley in 1984 (Rd 2) & Shawn Collins in 1989 (Rd 1).

O'Hara - Never played. Bust.

Mandley - 5 years with the Lions and 1 1/2 with the Chiefs. OK career but not what you want with a second rounder. Semi-bust.

Collins - 5 years total. Nice rookie year then nothing. Bust-ola.

School: The Johns Hopkins Blue Jays

Bust: None (I can't recall anyone remotely qualifying for NFL draft eligibility).

Now if we were talking LAX, it would be a totally different story.

Ohio State hasn't had any busts, just some guys that received bad coaching :D.

in recent years,i would have to go with:
1-Alonzo Spellman- i never knew how he was a 1st round selection. He was constantly blown off the ball by college linemen.
2-Maurice Clarett- he's not #1 because he was a 3rd round supp pick.
3-Bobby Carpenter- everyone should remember me saying he was a product of good pharmaceuticals as OSU.
4-Ahmed Plummer- another guy who i didn't think was 1st round material. Maybe the worst ball skills of any CB i have seen at OSU.

leonard davis....roy williams LOL(2 cowboys). hopefully they come to play this year. J/K

VY(hopefully not a bust, but he needs to win his job back)
michael huff, haven't heard much from him.
ricky williams....not a bust on the field but off the field.

For some reason it seems like longhorns players take longer to develop in the NFL. there are a lot of them in the league that are playing well now though.

today I watched cold pizza for the first time in over a year or so. and carpenter's A@# was on there. He probably should earn a down in an important game before he's on espn talking about others....to include his team. he's a good special teams guy though at times.

A few more SU studs - Ernie Davis, John Mackey, Larry Csonka, Floyd Little, Art Monk, Joe Ehrmann, Gary Anderson, Joe Morris, Rob Moore, Tim Green, Donovin Darius, Will Allen, Keith Bulluck & let's not forget Chris Gedney!! I can't really think of any hyped players out of Syracuse that were busts. It's sad how bad this program has fallen in the last 5 yrs. Marrone will be a great HC, but there just isn't any talent there right now.
