We have just a few short days before the draft, and the Cardinals have 61 players under contract. Soon there will be another 7 players added (68 total), and will have to bring in another 22 players to get to the 90 man camp limit. Note: They don't HAVE to have 90 guys in camp, but why wouldn't they ?

Yet, come game 1, week 1 the Cardinals will have to be down to 53 men.

PLEASE NOTE: If a spot is open that doesn't mean that player
is not making the roster, it merely states that the position is up for grabs. I.E. Levi Brown is going to be on the 2013 roster, no doubt about, but it is not a lock he plays LT.

As of right now the open positions, and spots that need to be sorted out are as follows:

- 3rd string QB
- 3rd string RB
- 4th string RB
- Starting FB ? If they are even going to have one.
- Starting TE
- 3rd string TE
- 4th string TE

I disagree with your outlook on the OL roster spots. Massie and Brown are definitely making the team. I think that two and maybe all three of Sendlein/Colledge/Snyder make the team, and I think that at least one of Potter/Kelemete are going to make the team. That's 5 of a maximum of 9 roster spots.

I also think that Jeff King at least comes to camp, although I can't say for sure he makes the roster.

On the secondary side, I think it's fair to assume that last year's third round pick in Jamell Flemming will make the roster, and Justin Bethel will probably earn a spot on special teams (although he's apparently sitting with the corners in the meeting room now).

Hold on K9

I am not saying guys like Levi Brown are not making the team or the final roster.

I am saying, for example, Levi Brown is not a lock to start at LT, that nobody on the line is a lock to start at any position.

That is that.

I fully expect Levi Brown to make the roster, and many that you have listed above.

Where will they fit ? I don't know, and I don't think anyone knows at this point.

Take Levi Brown, if he starts at LT then a lot falls into place, if he ends up (longshot) at RG then that changes a lot on the line.

I agree with K9 and the Oline. After the HC calls Brown elite its hard to imagine him not making the roster. I also think Dan Williams is part of the 53. DWash will not be part of the 53 out of camp. He will however be added on after serving his suspension. Wonder who will fill his spot till then?

3rd string QB is Hoyer - locked

the rest I agree with

Our entire O line sucks

Not at $2.5M in salary, and not if you're listening carefully to what Urban has been saying on the Cards' homepage.

Honestly, it seems to me that odds are against Hoyer making the roster. In part because he's expensive, but also in part because he's really not very good.

Why would you pay $2.5M to a guy that no one wanted for two months of the regular season a year ago?

I agree 100% here. No chance Hoyer is on the roster opening day. He'll get cut as soon as the draft is over to give us more money for players we'd like to bring in post-draft. The only reason I believe he's even on the roster right now is because we're praying that somebody trades us a 7th round pick for him before the draft is over.

I'm not sure that I'd go that far. From everything that's been reported, Steve Keim has been a long time fan of Brian Hoyer. I think that the main reason Hoyer was tendered at a 2nd round level is that he has Keim's imprematur.

I expect that even if we draft a QB, we'll release Lindley instead and take Hoyer to camp. Stanton will be under a ton of pressure to perform, but eventually we'll end up cutting Hoyer on the eve of the regular season.

He's like a ridiculously expensive Richard Bartel.
