I agree with you, I think that his lack of skills and the fact that he is the best player on the team but probably wouldn't be one of the 3 best players on a title team is why more casual fans dislike him. He's not Nash, KJ, or Kidd either, like I said. He's a different type of player. Also like Errntknght said a lot of people started to dislike him during his long contract negotiations as well as him being seen as supplanting Goran here. I'd much rather have Bledsoe than Goran but most fans preferred Goran because he was around during the Nash years and was seen as more of a homegrown talent. It's hard to sway the opinions of people once they started disliking him for various, I believe unfounded, reasons. Eric also has more of a reserved personality so a lot people take his silence as something more than it is.

I don't think his "lack" of skills is all that big. To me, that possibly may be Brandon Knight's failing, not Bledsoe's.

Knight is 3 years younger than Bledsoe. I think he's more of an undersized SG than he is a PG. He's been forced to play point though in Detroit and then Milwaukee due to the other players on those teams. He seems more confident running an offense than Bledsoe does and more of a leader as well but he still has a ways to go development wise. As a second playmaker on the court I think he'll find his niche. I really think Knight & Bledsoe will mesh together better than any combo of guards Hornacek has used.

They've said more of the 'right' things than any other pair did, which is a good start but I have a lingering fear that deep down both of them want to be 'the man' and won't cooperate as fully as they might. Occasionally giving the ball up to each other on the break makes them look unselfish but I'm hoping for a lot more than that. Of course, they have to cover the opponents fastbreaks but Horny will sit them if they fail to take on that elementary responsibility.

What I'm hoping to see is that they monitor each other and when one looks like he might be heading into trouble the other moves into position for a bail-out pass. That's basic teamwork but it hasn't been notable so far. Beyond that I'd like to see them moving more off the ball and making plays for each other. Simple give and go maneuvers and dribble handoffs would be a nice start - and they fit right into Hornacek's offense. Setting a pick for each other now and then would be good, too - especially when they have a weak defender they want to work over or strong one they want to avoid.

None of this is beyond either of them - its fundamental basketball and I'm disappointed that Jeff doesn't do more to foster it.

One thing about this type of backcourt that Hornacek and McD seem to have consistently overlooked is that it requires at least three guards that are capable of fitting in at either slot and four would be better. I believe that Booker can learn to be enough of playmaker to do it but Archie has almost proved he can't. Price and Weems may work out okay but we'll have to see - maybe they are thinking about it and evaluated these two with that in mind. One can only hope...

.

Last year, we had three guys that wanted to be "the man." Actually, I'm not actually sure about that. We know both Goran and IT were inclinded that way. And the coach was handing the pg spot to Bledsoe.

Actually two hot dogs on a bun just might work if the bun is the right size.
When I get tickets for a D-backs game, I enjoy the taste of their foot-long's.

But once a year, my employer treats us to a game in the all-you-can-section and the choice is limited.

So I improvised. Four hot dogs. Two buns.

I don't know what it is about the ball park hot dogs (it might be that I've had a few beers before eating one) but they're stinkin amazing. I get the feeling they use a cheap mustard, a cheap relish, cheap dogs, kinda sweet buns, but they get em all just right.

Those hot dogs look delicious BC. It seems food just tastes better at the ball park.

You're right. There is something special about a hot dog at the ball game. But the foot-long, with its BBQ taste, is the one that's delicious.

The all-you-can eat section -- well, it's right there and there are no vendors coming by. If it weren't a company occasion once a year, I'd skip it.

As I've posted before, the #9 All Star bacon cheddar burger at Majerle's at 2nd St. & Washington before a game (D-backs, Suns or Mercury) has become my tradition most of the time.

Damn, now my mouth is watering. Time to visit Dan's place at Desert Ridge or Old Town Scottsdale. Oh, it's after 9 PM. Maybe tomorrow. :)

You are making me hungry for a hot dog. But its boss's day, so my ex assistant is buying me pizza.
