cbssports.com aticle to contradict cbus and Columbus propaganda. Everybody ran faster on OSU track. Who, if anybody, has the real info?

I'd tend to believe Gil Brandt over at NFL.com. He has Wells running a 4.38 as one of his Pro Day forty times.

Note - Even if you added .15 to Wells' time to compensate for a fast track, this would still put him at 4.53 - not too shabby for a guy who weighs around 235.

Pro Days
Mack in focus at California’s pro day
Posted: March 18th, 2009 | NFL.com Staff | Tags: Alex Mack, California, Zack Follett

Alex Mack
Thirty teams had a total of 50 representatives at California’s pro day and there were six offensive line coaches on hand.

Those assistants showed up to watch center Alex Mack (6-foot-4 1/4, 307 pounds). He had a sensational workout in the position drills and ran a 5.17 and 5.23 in the 40, posted a 28 1/2-inch vertical jump, an 8-foot, 10-inch broad jump, a 4.75 short shuttle, a 7.31 three-cone drill and did 20 bench press reps.

Here are some of the other notable prospects:

LB Zack Follett (6-2 1/8, 238 pounds) stood on everything from the combine, except bench press. He had 21 reps.

LB Anthony Felder (6-1 3/4, 235 pounds) ran a 4.76 in the 40 and had a 36-inch vertical jump. He pulled his hamstring after his first 40 and was done for the day.

LB Worrell Williams (5-11 1/4, 241 pounds) ran a 4.77 and 4.75 in the 40 and kept the rest of his numbers from the combine.

TE Cameron Morrah (6-3 3/8, 242 pounds) ran a 4.61 and 4.63 in the 40 and kept the rest of his workout drill numbers from the combine. He had really good hands, but is not seen as a proficient blocker.

DE Rulon Davis did not participate due to an ankle injury.

Important to note: There’s a bunch of construction going on at Berkeley. They are in the process of remodeling the stadium and they say that it’s going to be a state-of-the-art building when it’s finished, but right now there is lots and lots of construction going on.

Harvin showcases skills at Florida’s pro day
Posted: March 18th, 2009 | NFL.com Staff | Tags: Cornelius Ingram, Florida, Percy Harvin

Wide receiver Percy Harvin was the headliner at Florida’s pro day today in Gainesville. A slew of wide receiver coaches came out to watch Harvin perform, and Vikings vice president of player personnel Rick Spielman, Panthers general manager Marty Hurney, and Bucs GM Mark Dominik and coach Raheem Morris also were in attendance.

Harvin (5-foot-11 3/4, 193 pounds) did not disappoint. He kept his running-drill numbers from the combine, but he had a 37 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot, 1-inch broad jump and did 20 bench-press lifts. He looked exceptional in position drills and caught the ball well. He also showed great explosion.

Another player who opened eyes Wednesday was tight end Cornelius Ingram. After sitting out this past season because of a knee injury, Ingram is healthy again and showing it on the field. He ran 4.72 and 4.69 seconds in the 40-yard dash, had a 9-foot, 6-inch broad jump and was sharp in position drills.

Former Florida and NFL player Doug Johnson was the quarterback during receiving drills and did a great job running a scripted workout so scouts could see the prospects catch a variety of different passes.

Here are some other notable players among the 12 who worked out on the grass field:

WR Louis Murphy (6-2 5/8, 207 pounds) ran a 4.45-second short shuttle and a 6.95-second three-cone drill. He ran position drills.

OT Jason Watkins (6-5 3/4, 319 pounds) did 19 bench-press reps, but he kept the rest of his numbers from the combine. He did position workouts.

OT Phil Trautwein (6-6, 308 pounds) ran 5.40 and 5.36 seconds in the 40, had a 27-inch vertical and an 8-foot, 3-inch broad jump and did 23 bench-press reps.

Is that short shuttle time correct? If it is that is one he!! of a good time. He did well in that event at the combine.

jarron gilbert

Twenty six teams were on hand at San Jose State as they started the workout bright and early on a cold and breezy morning. The star of the day, Jarron Gilbert, delivered as expected. Gilbert measured 6051/284-pounds, four less than his combine weight. His jumps were fantastic as Gilbert posted a 37-inch vertical jump and 10-foot 7-inch broad. His forty's averaged 4.76 seconds, significantly faster than his performance at the combine. Gilbert's 10yd split was 1.67-seconds and his 20yd-split was 2.75 seconds. He ran into a slight breeze. Later Gilbert ran in the low 4.4's in the short shuttle and posted a 3-cone time of 7.57 seconds. The almost three dozen scouts on hand watched as New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan put Gilbert through a series if defensive line drills. Even as the defensive backs started their workout the scouts paid little attention, watching every detail of Gilbert's session work. By all accounts it was a terrific performance and Gilbert is very much knocking on the door of round one.</p>

Per ECS:
03/21...Jets interested in Gilbert..."The New York Jets are very interested in San Jose State DE Jarron Gilbert, so much so, that Jets' head coach Rex Ryan made a cross-country trip to personally run his workout on Friday at the San Jose State pro day. Gilbert 6-5.2, 288 pounds, is a raw talent that would fit perfectly as a five technique DE in the Jets' 3-4 defensive scheme. Shaun Ellis will be 32 in June, and defensive ends that have the size to play in a 3-4 scheme are held in high regard, especially since several more NFL teams have decided to switch over to a 3-4 scheme for the 2009 season. Gilbert is rated as a second round prospect at this time, but with his potential, and the lack of quality five technique defensive ends in this draft, Gilbert could come off the board as early as the later stages of the first round of the draft".
