"..And in this corner.."

Az's finest; I'm saying that none, NONE [not NUN] of us know as much as Dan Fouts- I trust any Hall of Fame player's judgement about a player at his own position rather than [me included] a rabid pack of fans looking for the future Hall of Famer to get our franchise started.. or an anal-yst that never put on a jockstrap.. The hitch in his motion doesn't concern Fouts, and I'm only saying I put my eggs in his basket rather than my own knowledge.. Bottom line, DG always does the best thing possible with each pick in my mind, so we'll believe him one more year atleast!! No offense meant to us armchair experts!!

I want Vince Young so bad it's not even funny. If Bush is there we shoudl take him, but I see us pickin at like 6-10 and him being long gone so we could possibly get Young and maybe get lucky and have someone like Ferguson or Williams fall to us.

Moot point, Young stays in school. he and Quinn will wait a year and duke it out. But there is a good point. For every Fouts, there are 10 "Hall of fame/experts" who grade Young as a low first, high second. Not saying he should go there, just be careful hitchin your pony to one wagon and not paying attention to what EVERYBODY is saying. As people we tend to find evidance that supports our own opinions.

What is everyone's over enamoration-love-in with Leinart? Have you all forgotten that his Oline is the most dominant in college football[better than the Cards sad to say], he has 2 all american RB's, and 1-2 allamerican wr-t-ends? Plus he has an all american defense that gives him plenty of rest, and he still can't be the leader to start his team off hot in games!!! USC plays from way behind almost every game and to me, that's on the QB's lack of leadership..

This is like saying Reggie Bush isn't one of the top players in the country because he plays with Jarret, White, Lienert, Winston, etc. Don't condem a man for having good player around him. The slow starts you are referring to can go elsewhere. When Arizona does it we call it poor coaching.

Anybody remember the Orange Bowl two years ago? Didn't Leinart have like 4 TD, anothe rushing and 400 yards in about 2 1/2 quarters of play against Michigan? The kid has an above average arm and has GREAT accuracy. He will play, and play well on Sundays.

He does take too many hits we agree on that, and I think Stoops is abusing the hell out of him at OU.

Same reason why I love Marshawn Lynch but worry about how long of an NFL career he'll have, like AP he doesn't know when to go down or go out of bounds, he fights so hard for extra yardage he takes a lot of extra hits, and fumbles. Lynch is a more complete RB than AP too, much better receiver, but what sets Peterson apart is that he can carry the ball 30 times a game.

The one fear I have on Bush is name the last starting RB in the NFL to routinely return KO's and punts? Metcalf did it in the 70's but you haven't seen too many times since where a starting RB is risked on kick returns. So if you draft him in part on that, you have to wonder will you really let him do that and risk the injuries?

OBviously I like JJ Arrington but if the Cards get a shot at Bush we should absolutely take him.

Russ, what the heck are you talking about?

Peterson has averaged about 25 carries a game when he's been starting this year, and only has 130 attempts total for 2005.

for his career, I might go for "overused", but "abusing the hell out of" is ridiculous.

A brief list of people I want so bad it's not even funny:
My wife (cause she reads these things too, Hi honey!)
Jessica Alba
Maria Carey (pre-slutty phase)
That volleyball girl with the shampoo
The Princess Leia Slave Outfit that Jennifer Aniston wore in "Friends"
Janeane Garofalo (cause she is funny sometimes)

If J.J can't run behind this line, why do you think Bush or even Berry Sanders in his prime could.

rb's and qb's are not this team's problem right now.

Leinhart is no better than Warner.

Even if true, Leinart has 10 years on Warner. Warner has maybe 2-3 years left in his career. Leinart has a dozen.

Actually a very valid point since our own rookie RB has struggled to get it going in the NFL after tearing up that same conference last year. JJ averaged more YPC than Bush last year and the year before(Bush at 7.9 this year tops JJ's best of 7.0 last year). The Pac 10 has a lot of really good RB's(Bush, White, Harrison, Lynch, Forsett, Drew, Herring etc) and a lot of bad run defenses for those RB's to exploit.

I will say to be fair his 2 best games this season in terms of YPC were Arkansas and Notre Dame, both not Pac 10 schools.

Exactly what I was thinking re: Arrington. It's not to imply that Pac-10 RBs are bad or even that Pac-10 defenses are bad (though many feel that way). They are just usually playing a prevent-the-big-play style that creates a lot room underneath for a nimble pass-catching RB.
