Waiting for more clarification on this, but for right now, I am hearing Holliday will not report to #Arizona. #Redskins

Damn, that's not good!!! No way we can keep Timmay now, and doubt we'll be able to even get that much for him in a second attempt at a trade. Holliday was a sneaky good pickup.

Just bump up the 6th rounder to a 5th rounder and lets be done with this Washington.

Holliday just does not want to play for us does he, isn't this like the 3rd time he has said no to us?

I'm happy with keeping Hightower or getting a better pick as compensation.

He found out he'd have to live out at Sun City instead of Ahwatukee with the rest of the players.

What is the precedent? All the talk on twitter is about Jake Plummer being traded from the Broncos to the Bucs but never playing again...but the deal still went through...

Imagine for a second that you are Vonnie Holiday---you were the player rep for the redskins throughout this enormously exhausting and exasperating off-season ordeal.

And two days into training camp he has to uproot his family at his age and years of experience---because the team he just represented shipped him off without any sense of conscience.

That and---Tim Hightower is STILL the best RB on the roster in terms of holding down his assignments. Other good RBs have had their issues with fumbling and have corrected them. Tikki Barber, for one. Adrian Peterson---still a work in progress in that regard at Minnesota.

I fervently hope that like the Deuce scenario---we get THT back. He has proven that he can be totally clutch in the most pressure packed situations. And right now---that's more than good enough for me.

Beanie has not.

And before we crown a rookie---let's see how he transitions into the pros before we hand him the keys.

Raise your hand if you were shocked that Vonnie Holliday was still in the NFL.

Who cares if he reports or not.

THT is worth much more than a 5th round pick.

What other trade are you thinking of that might compare? Hell, Donovan McNabb moved for 6th round picks. What do you think an RB with serious fumbling problems and no 1000 seasons is worth?

Highly disagree. Highest percentage fumble and drop passes for any running back, who's forte pass blocking went into the gutter last year according to profootballfocus analysis.

And don't forget the flooded market of veteran RBs who can't get a contract, all sitting around waiting for a nibble.

I can't believe we got anything for him.

It is really an easy fix.

Slightly tweak the trade, if he shows up and is talked into coming over cool trade stands as is, if not, he goes on did not report list, Holliday misses out on 1 million dollars forced to retire, and Redskins have to throw in one of those extra sixth rounders they got in the McNabb trade on top of the original 6th rounder.

He signed a 2nd round tender. The 2nd round pick was switched to a 6th with the addition of Holliday. If they can't find another player to add to the deal the Redskins will have to up the draft pick

The tender he signed has nothing to do with this. This was a trade. The redskins did not sign him to an offer sheet.

Highly disagree right back. Made some of the most clutch plays in AZ Cardinals football history. Runs hard and fearlessly. Plays his heart out.
Stats don't even begin to tell the story on this kid---even on the plus end and his 4.8 average this past year. With Warner, THT tied for 19th in league in receiving catching 63 balls at an average of 6.8 ypc. Plus, he stuck his nose in on more blocks the past two years than I can remember any Cardinals RB do, often cases taking the romance out of the blitz.

Agree with everything Mitch. He was one of the key weapons for Warner. If that was Beanie no way we would have made it to superbowl. His ability to both run, catch and block and hold assignments were also the same set of skills Faulk helped made that the greatest show on turf. Now, Faulk is all better at that, but skill set is what is so important for the type of QB Warner is.

I hate to see Timmy go. The only thing that makes me happy is that is the best for his own. He would be even better in a zone blocking scheme. He has that vision and one cut ability to make that scheme work. I think that Shanahan was looking for that and it is obvious for me even since the draft that he is made to run behind that style of blocking up front. I think he would put up massive stats.

Hightower is already doing interviews over there, Washington will not let him leave, they will fix it IMO.
