we'll leave the light on for you Timmy Too.

The Cards have that affect on players, Kurt, Berry, Wright retired,

Do you wake up every morning and decide that you are going to be the most annoying person you can be? Please take some of your allocated message board time and use it to brush up on grammar and punctuation. It would be so nice to read at least one error free post that isn't Debbie downer.

I don't even want Vonnie Holliday. He peaked at mediocre in Kansas City eight years ago.

All that good stuff cooking in the kitchen and your gonna let THESMEL bother you? Enjoy it all, some folks get a negativity card and others get roasted. It's a good off season, even the guys who aren't happy (rightfully so) are keeping the hackey sack up. If Beanie was gone, then you'd really be upset with SMEL's posts!:D

missed

somebody Missed the FEED the BEAN and TIMMY TOO, phase last year.

I wanted THT to thrive, but He was hit and miss as a starter, mostly miss at the run game, but picked it up as a receiver and a blocker. And had a nose for the end zone with 10 TD's as a rookie.

It is just reality and I'm called negative regardless, THT had like 3 -100 yard games in almost 40 starts? 2 against the awful Rams. He bust a big one, and had a couple awesome streaks in 3 years starting.

143, 143, 153 is his attempts in 1/2 of 08, 09, 10. That is an awful starting RB total, after Haley left, but it is a large enough sample.

I'm a Cardinals fan, and starting THT was not great for him or the Cardinals,

Beanie didn't exactly help out the situation with an injury and a mouth. He even said something about it, how he is going to play instead of say. If he gets banged up in pre-season...If he goes for 1,200...He has got the top seat now. Kinda up to him to live up to your rating, I'm hoping your right.

I freaking hate Holliday. Just retire so I can stop wishing bad things on you.

It goes in cycles and it's like the stock market, you never know when what position is going to be worth the big cheese. QBs seem to be the only ones safe year after year. Supply and demand.

Nah. The payscale for positions in the NFL remain pretty consistent, in comparison to one another:

1) Quarterback
2) Pass rusher
3) Cornerback
4) Left Tackle
5) Everyone else.

Elite players at non-elite positions are going to get paid (your Patrick Willises and Warren Sapps), but for the most part these are the four premium positions in the NFL, and teams who invest money (or draft value) at other positions too heavily do so at their own risk (looking at you, Millen's Lions).

Caution!!!!!

This entire thread was based on a two tweets (the 2nd quite possibly based on the first).

There has been no Holliday chatter on the PFT, ESPN or NFL blogs.

Best that we keep our panties dry until the news firms up (if, in fact, it does).

Regardless - we are a bit thin in the 20+ carry RB department. Whether we get THT back or sign a FA, we need another veteran body who can catch out of the backfield and is decent in blitz pickup. (It is rumored that RB's get injured a lot).

I don't think Holliday would make the team anyway. I really don't. I can't believe the cards placed any value on him in the first place.

Maybe, but someone in the scouting department loves him. We've been looking to get a hold of him since Mac was here.

Vonnie Holliday reminds me of a poor-man's Kevin Carter (Pro Bowler for the Rams then went over to the Titans to team with Jevon Kearse for a few years). At this point, he can probably be a poor-man's Trevor Price.

The goal should be to get someone who can keep both Darnell Dockett and Calais Campbell fresh for passing situations. Eason is not that good a player, but Holliday is a guy you can run with and knows the 3-4 defense.

The way that this deal differs from the Plummer trade (which someone compared it to earlier in the thread) is that I think the Broncos were going to pay Tampa money if Plummer failed to show up to camp. It was an interesting deal at the time, because it placed a dollar value on a draft pick (that Tampa sent to Denver) in a way that the NBA does with some regularity.

Hightower's gone; it'll be interesting to see if he can unseat Torain for real carries or if he's just a third-down guy. Good work while you were here, Timmy, but I hope you fumble three times when we play the Skins.

Also, Tampa was trying to call Plummer's bluff. He was still in the prime of his career, so Plummer threatening to retire rings differently in the ears of GMs than does Vonnie Holliday retirement talks.

And that became the biggest problem. Teams knew that Hightower was going to cough up the ball, so they didn't worry if he gained 6 yards or carried someone for another 2 because they knew that if help was coming they might be able to get a killer turnover.

Wolfley is saying that the problem is psychological and Mitch is carrying water for Timmy, but he's been benched twice (at least) now for coughing up the ball at the worst possible times, and he hasn't fixed the problem.

Timmy should give Mike Bell a call and ask him what happens with Shanahan when you keep dropping the rock.

Torain can't stay healthy. Even if THT doesn't unseat him in August, you can bet he'll get plenty of starts when Torain gets hurt and see the ball quite a bit to keep Torain's reps light.

Keiland Williams was VERY productive in that role last year behind Portis/Torain. He's already on the roster.

The Redskins are making a poor choice not to sign Ahmad Bradshaw. They probably should've gotten Reggie Bush if he'd come available. Bradshaw and Torain would be a great RB tandem.
