The Pulaski County Maroons were looking to continue a 2-0 start at home on Tuesday as they welcomed in the East Jessamine Jaguars. A steady offensive attack helped lead the Maroons to victory, as they scored one run in five separate innings in a 5-3 victory over the Jaguars.

Ben Gaskin led the way with two RBI’s, while Chase Farmer had an RBI on a solo home run and Carter Ross added an RBI of his own. Cal Miller added two hits, with Kam Measel adding one hit. Dawson Branscum earned the win on the mound, going all seven innings while allowing three runs on seven hits with one strikeout.

Pulaski improves to 3-1 and will welcome in Model on Thursday.

Somerset takes down Tates Creek

The Somerset Briar Jumpers have had a tough slate of games to open up their 2025 slate, and that continued on Tuesday as they welcomed in Tates Creek for action on the baseball diamond. In what was a strong effort for the Jumpers after their loss on Friday, Somerset took down the Commodores 9-2.

Caynon Sizemore led the way with four RBI’s in the win, with Connor Vanderploeg adding two and Raygan New, Griffin Loy and Josh Bruner adding one RBI apiece. Kole Grundy, Isaiah Lewis and Brody Dalton each added one hit. Luke Poynter earned the win, going four innings while allowing one run on two hits with four strikeouts. Lewis went three innings in relief and earned the save, allowing one run on four hits with three strikeouts.

Somerset improves to 3-1 and will travel to Wayne County on Thursday.

Warriors fall to Corbin

The Southwestern Warriors welcomed in the Danville Admirals on Tuesday and despite out-hitting their opponents, ultimately fell 4-2 in their second-straight loss.

Jonas Gallagher led the way with the lone RBI for the Warriors along with a stolen base. Jackson Couch, Jonah Brock, Jayce Gager, Benjamin Stewart and Clifton Sawyers all added a hit apiece. Couch earned the loss on the mound, going four innings while allowing four runs on two hits with three strikeouts. Michael Miller pitched three innings while allowing just one hit with two strikeouts.

Southwestern falls to 3-3 and will travel to Mercer County on Thursday.

Lady Maroons drop road contest at Clinton County

The Lady Maroons of Pulaski County were hoping to snap a losing skid on Tuesday at Clinton County, but unfortunately couldn’t keep up with the Lady Bulldogs’ offense as they fell 9-3.

Maggie Gregory led the way with two RBI’s in the loss. Shelbie Sellers and Bella Ellis each had three hits, while Julie Bullock, Ryann Sowder and Novaleigh Baker each had one hit apiece. Gregory had the loss on the mound, going all seven innings while allowing nine runs on eight hits with one strikeout.

Pulaski falls to 2-4 and will take on Mercer County in a rematch of last year’s regional title game on Thursday.

Southwestern slugs past Casey County

The Southwestern Warriors were out to snap a small losing streak on Tuesday, taking on Casey County on the road, and did just that by hitting their way past the Lady Rebels by a final score of 13-1 in six innings.

Kylie Dalton, Abigail Whitescarver and Halle Norvell each had three RBI’s in the win, with Norvell, Brynn Troxell and Zoie Lowery each hitting a home run as well. Macie Gwin and Arabella Lowery each had one RBI apiece, with Makenna New adding two hits. Jayla Singleton earned the win, going six innings while allowing just one run on five hits with six strikeouts.

Southwestern improves to 2-3 and will travel to Russell County on Thursday.

Lady Jumpers shutout by North Laurel

Fresh off of three straight wins, the Somerset Lady Jumpers could not get anything going on the road against the North Laurel Lady Jaguars, falling 10-0 in six innings.

Emry Pyles and Maci Huff each had two hits in the loss, with Aleah Wesley, Eva Hines and Nora Grider each adding one hit apiece. Addy White earned the loss on the mound, pitching all six innings while allowing 10 runs on 14 hits with two strikeouts.

Somerset falls to 4-2 and will next travel to Garrard County on Thursday.
