We will have a surplus of picks next year -- too many to make the roster.

Yeah, I don't agree with that.

We need upgrades at 2 running back spots, 3 Receiver spots, 2 TE, 2-3 DL, 1-2 corners depending on if Bethel leaves, a QB if Palmer goes, an Inside linebacker, an OT

That is up to 15 positions to fill. We have a lack of young talent right now, not a time to be giving up draft picks.

Our young players with potential are just (Boehm, nkemdiche, Reddick, Baker, Brandon Williams, Logan, and maybe Ford/Toner). We have missed on over half our picks in the last 2 drafts, not that uncommon but the answer is to get more picks to improve your odds, not ship them off for an extra yard or 2 of net punt average.

I like Lee as much as the next guy, but I don't think our punting has been bad this preseason. The probably should focus on the coverage teams instead.

The problem with the current guys is inconsistency. Wile can boom 'em when he hits it right, but he drops far too many 34-yard turds. Leone about the same. Bring in Lee, I don't give a crap about his hamstring!

Lee is a vet and I bet even if his leg strength is not what it used to be, he is better at directional punting... and why gripe that we need a WR or CB when signing him would hardly impede us doing so from what is there available to upgrade those positions

+1

ST's need all the help they can get. That few extra yards means a lot at critical times in a game.

I think all of you should do a bit of growing up here but must say...

Never underestimate the skills of ball handling. Remember last year when Butler couldn't grab the Cats balls? It put us in a very hairy situation which finally led to some shaving of the two man team.

Boo! :D

& don't forget the "hidden" factors.

There was an opportunity to drop a punt inside the Denver 5 Thurs night, but the ball was downed somewhere around the Denver 15. It won't show up in the stats but it did represent an opportunity-missed & could cost us a close game in the regular season.

Andy Lee is now available. Cardinals could move on signing him asap. Give him a 2 year deal to pair him with Phil Dawson, who is also signed through 2018.
