I was pretty surprised when we cut Graham, especially since he got most of the punts (or maybe all of them, can't remember) in the last preseason game. But, really? Zastudil is horrible. Net average 35.6. What in the hell?

FWIW Graham has a net average of 36.6 in 2010 and 40.6 in 2009. Yeah, I know it's early, but, seriously.

We cut the wrong kicker, it should have been Feely. I said it in preseason.

Oh Wait I forgot Feely gets a free pass from 90% of Cards fans some insane reason.

Surprised no one is talking about this. BTW, Feely is one for four.

I know we have other needs, but it sems kickers should be easy to fill.

Always thought letting him go was a mistake. I thought we were trading apples for apples, except that Rackers was better at making that last stop.

The punter situation is really puzzling. I don't know what the hell the thought process was behind letting Graham go.

Want to see the replay of the last one he missed? I don't.

But then Rackers gave us Lemons and we kept making Lemonade out of them.

His miss v Chicago got us CKW instead of Green and an NFC Title.

His miss v Green Bay got us the Adams/Dansby show and one of the greatest endings to a game in Cardinal history.

:D

I liked Graham. But you could see that his punts weren't skyscrapers like some other NFL punters. However, I didn't know anything about Mr. Z so couldn't really make an informed judgement on the change.

However, some of us did discuss the change in the holder during the pre season game where Zustadil was holding instead of Graham. That was what concerned me. And now Mr.Reliable Feely is suddenly missing FGs. So.......

True on Graham. But I think he did well enough in preseason to warrant a position on the team. We saw virtually nothing from Z. And, yes, I believe the holder has an effect in the kicker. Look at Rackers stats after Player left and when Johnson was holding for Rackers. I talked to Rackers at a party when the Super Bowl was in AZ about the situation, and he was on fire about the holder. It makes a difference to the kicker, at least.

i just know feely has been a huge let down so far this season. if we want to be successful at all with the talent level we have, everyone needs to play to their max capacity.

I was afraid of that. So why make the change. Graham wasn't that bad. The Cards D never stops anyone anyway no matter whether they start from 80 yards or 50 yards out.

I refuse to get all upset about freaking kickers, wake up- our defense is killing us right now...be it the players or probably the coacking, hopefully in a few more game they will improve

I'm telling ya. Rackers was ON FIRE about Dirk Johnson, I believe. ON FIRE. And, when we changed punters (cause Johnson sucked) things improved.

Kickers are a different breed. You gotta listen to them. This Z guy is NOT good kicking. Perhaps he sucks as a holder, too. Bring back Graham. Now.

Unless he pissed someone on the coaching staff off. We know how that works,

So where's the Rackers haters now?

Rackers went to a team that was out of the playoff hunt and he started to kick well again.

It'll be interesting to see if Houston keeps it up, when Rackers has to make that big kick late in the game will he make it, or be wide left again?

I'm getting the same way with Feeley, right before that pick I said to myself if Feely was any good, I'd run a QB draw to get a few yards before the FG. But you can't do that because you can't rely on him to make the kick, and then Kolb made a bad decision and that was that.

It's a huge problem when you can't trust your kicker and have to game plan around that. We did that with Rackers for a couple of seasons, I hope we don't give Jay that long if he doesn't get it right.

If the problem is as simple as changing holders I'm all for it, I just don't think it is.
