Well, here we are, just days away from the 2009 NFL draft. This weekend will be a memorable one for me. It will determine where I will call home for the next few years. As a kid, I always dreamed about becoming a professional athlete.

The fact that my dream is about to become reality is surreal. You see guys like Jerry Rice, Lawrence Taylor and Emmitt Smith, and just think to yourself, "Man, I want to be just like them." Now is the time to begin creating my own legacy. Now is the time where, hopefully, young kids will see me and think, "Man, I want to be just like him."

I will be watching the draft back at home in Florida with family and friends. My cellphone will be on me at all times, anxiously waiting for the phone to ring from an NFL team. Whoever decides to draft me, they know that they are not only getting a dedicated player on the field, but also a role model off of it. I enjoy helping others in the community and plan on being an active member to see that the young kids know right from wrong. I hope to inspire others to go for their dreams because one day they just might come true.

I want to thank Coach Edsall and the entire UConn football staff for helping me grow over my past four years in college. The coaching staff is the biggest reason for my success and for helping me achieve unanimous first-team All-Big East honors last season. I also want to thank the amazing fans here for sticking with us. I hope we made you proud. I am certain the program will continue to succeed and give you even more to be proud of in the years to come.

I will miss my days here in Connecticut. The memories I have will stick with me for the rest of my life. It's now time to turn the page, though, and get ready for the NFL. I have a job to do, a job that I will perform with dedication, commitment and class.

Ahh the forgotten draft pick. We talk more about Garvin then we do this guy.

I am hoping Brown comes in immediatly and finds a role as a pass rusher.

There is just not as much "story" to this guy I guess cause he is getting almost no love.

Either they (heh heh) speeded up his tape or he's quicker around the edge to the QB than either Orapko or English looked on their NFL Net highlight footage.

It's funny the kid didn't get more play. He wasn't talked about a lot and didn't seem to be a draft fan favorite.

I did see Adam Schein on the NFL Network raving about this kid as a possible impact player off the edge for the Cardinals this year.

What I like about Brown is that he's not a one year wonder. He has steadily progressed year after year. With the extra attention I'm sure he received after a very good jr year he put up better numbers as a senior. I think were going to be pretty happy with this pick.

He is definitely faster than English. I had him ranked higher on my board. I don't get the commnents about strength. I watched him blow up backs repeatedly on pass rushes. His 26 reps were better than Curry, English and Matthews. He's very flexible and could well play inside or out the way the Cards use LBs. The release of LaBoy makes it clear the Cards expect him to play immediately. You have to love the guys who knock his height, since he is taller than Curry and Cushing. He is almost the same height as English.
