OK, I read the rest of the article. I am glad to hear that Wendell is working so hard on his college degree. Does he sense that he will need it very soon? I do wonder why all the money he is getting to be a professional foot-ball player has not made him a "key-contributor".

Wendell and Starks both remain on my performe-or-cut box, if I only had the power of Bidwill....my opinon would matter.

AHEM! that would be BIDWILL redheart. two more "Bidwells" and your banned for a week! :p (kidding skkorp!)

I echo many of your thoughts. Starks and Bryant must perform this year! You could also throw KVB, Stone and Wilson into that group.

I'm pulling hard for Bryant. His first couple of years have been marred by injuries and bad coaching. But, no excuses this year! Gimme ten sacks Wendell!

His words are encouraging, but as they say - "actions speak louder."

Let's assume for a moment that everything we hope for comes true - i.e. the light bulbs finally go off for Wendell, Darnell Dockett lives up to the buzz and Ken King continues to improve over a pretty decent 2003.

If true, the battle in Camp to be starting Under Tackle should be sweet.

That's right.

Yeah, but John Randle wasn't a 1st Round bust, either...He was a late round/UFA guy. I hope Wendell is serious about what he says in this article. Only being 23 means we shouldn't give up, for at leat one more season!

If you do good you will see me one more time but if you do bad you will see me two more times.

(Anyone know the film?)

OK, I have not read the article yet, I am about to.

But first....

Wendell has been flirting with the word "Bust". I absolutely agree with him, his attitude and effort have been lacking. I will bet big money that he still cashed all the checks from his "under-valued" contract.

What a joke. Rookie holds-out for "his money" and has not played a down in the NFL. After payed very well for his opportunity in the NFL, he has failed to live up to the value of a #1 pick. By far.

He BETTER put up this year or he will be yet another draft bust...who was the GM / coach...was it Fergerson / Mac that drafted him?

Now I will read the article, and see if I am converted to this welcome-party for the "new" Wendell.

It was Fergie that drafted him...Remember Fergie on TV, crying because he just drafted the next Bruce Smith? LOL What a joke! Good luck in Seattle cry baby!

That interview means nothing, anyone can go out there and say they screwed up, he has to show it on the field, he was drafted to play football, not to tell us how he realizes he has been blowing ass for two years

Do you do anything besides troll here?

Woops, I got that other 1st Round Bust (Andre Wadsworth) confused with the current 1st Round Bust (Wendell Bryant). My apologies to all.

If Bryant can't show heart, desire, ability to fire off the ball, 8+ sacks and numerous QB pressures in 2004...we should cancel his Christmas and ship his ass out! JMO

8+ sacks from a Defensive tackle would send him to the Pro Bowl, in all liklihood. 5 Sacks and a disruptive presence in the middle would probably give Wendell a chance to earn a new contract with the Red Birds in 2005.

In his contract year, I think that Wendell is going to cost essentially the veteran minimum plus his signing bonus. That's nothing. He'll be here for the length of his contract, even if it's just as a backup.
