It's a business and I don't have any hard feelings toward Q. He left half a jaw and some broken bones on the field for us. It's fair to question his loyalties, never question his heart.

Still can't believe he suited up two weeks after a broken face. That about 1000000x outweighs some stupid sideline/tunnel spat. Q is awesome and one of my all time favs.

Not in my book. Not even close. He let his "me.me.me" attitude take over his team mentality If it walks like a duck...

Who could forget the historic Quan threads?

There was a time when Larry has been concerned about his catches and if we didn't have as strong a coach in BA as we do I think a lesser one would have felt the sting of much more of that given his new role or not even attempted to put him in that in the first place.

BA has some stones I'll say that.

I can't erase the selfishness of Q at the worst possible moments. Does anyone not remember him screaming at Haley on the sideline essentially during a game winning drive?

That was WAY above and beyond anything you could defend IMO.

Q is what Q is and you can't take away what he has done for this franchise but the parting had to happen after that.

Cards wanted to redo Anquan's contract before beginning work on a long term deal for Fitz. Q and his agent decided they would wait until after Larry's deal was done.

Once Larry was extended, Q came back wanted more as he saw himself (probably rightly so) as the locker-room leader, not Larry.

Anquan got bitter about the money and blamed the Cards for lying to him. Cards, I think more out of respect for what Q had done, agreed to let him and his agent to find a team willing to trade for him. Baltimore got Q, we got draft picks that turned out to Andre Roberts, Obrein Schofield, and Jorrick Calvin???

Q has done nothing but bash us ever since. Hands down, he was my favorite player. I rooted for him with the Ravens in the Superbowl. I kind of threw up a bit when he was gifted to SanFran.

It used to seem ridiculous that he wouldn't be in our ROH. Now... I don't think he belongs there. Too short of a tenure anywhere to make anyone else's ROH either. Lastly, with the way the NFL has become a passing league, I a don't think he'll make the HOF.

He got paid, which is what he wanted. In 10 years, he'll be nothing more than a post-script in NFL history. A name that gets mentioned every so often, only as future WR's pass his stats on the all time lists.

Meanwhile we'll be celebrating Fitz's ROH ceremony, Gold Jacket, and hopefully Lombardi trophy at the end of this season.

Go Cards!!!

OK, I just had a double shot of Crown, but I have to say this anyway.

I really don't care what the circumstamces are; when a guy leaves the Cards, he is the enemy. I certainly appreciate the things Q did for the Cardinals, but once he left, he forfeited my loyalty. The truth is: I root for a vinyl sticker on a plastic helmet and if it's not in the shape of a Cardinal head, I don't care who's under it or how they feel. Right or wrong, that's how I feel about Boldin and I hope he cried himself to sleep last night.

You're right 82; this is probably Larry's last best shot and he deserves the ring. Few players in the modern era have shown the loyalty and professionalism that this man has. We kept the right one.

Go Cards; 16-0 and cruise to and through the Superbowl.

I'm in this camp, I root for the team and it's current players.

I really didn't intend for this thread to turn into a Q bashing thread... What's done is done. And we all will always have our own views about Q and his departure.
I just wanted to look at their numbers as, again, I find myself comparing Fitz and Q on a regular basis.

I never thought of it before but it's odd that I really don't.

They are so different I don't see any comparison their games are completely based on different emphasis points.

Q is the toughest WR to walk planet earth. Larry has great hands and at his peak might have been the greatest combination of leaping WR with great hands to ever play the game.

So they aren't at all alike other than they are both great competitors but it's like they don't even play the same position to me.

Oh, no doubt... They are two vastly different receivers. When I say "compare", I simply mean in terms of their numbers... Their production. And which one will end up in Canton, if not both...

I think if Q can last say three more seasons after this one and puts up pretty good numbers he will make it but that team is imploding so he might fall short.

He's going to need to get more yards to make it IMO.

There is a couple of ways to look at Q. The easiest one (and the one spun out there by the Cardinal marketing folks) says Q was a "me-me-me" take his ball and go home pouting player. I seem to remember his teammates fully supporting him and standing beside him.

Another perspective would be Q being a man of conviction. He said he was "lied to" by presumably someone in the F.O. IIRC, the organization did approach him a final time in hopes of reconciliation (remember when KW offered to skim $ off the top of his deal if they would use it for Anquan), and Q stuck to his guns.

The dude played hard for us until the day he left. That saga played out for almost 2 seasons and you wouldn't know it based on his play. So what if he didn't stick around for the confetti drop. He still strapped up and played his ass off.

Q deserves to be in the HOF. I hope he gets there.

Really?!?!

What saddened me was watching Q walk out the tunnel with his agent while the rest of the team was celebrating the NFC championship!!!

No kidding, it saddened me too. I loved Q when he was here, but this picture I took in the players parking lot after the NFC championship game is the lasting image for me. On his phone, in his Bentley leaving, while the team and all of us were celebrating. I lost it for him at that point.

If you were inside partying and celebrating the victory with everyone else like you stated above how did you take this pic? ;)

All I know is Im glad to have had the opportunity to see both guys suit up and play the best years of their career in Cardinal red. They are both beasts and both about as classy as you can get off the field to fans and through charity work.

I will never hate on Q after seeing him lay himself out week in and week out for this team. Yea he left on bitter terms so what? **** happens be an adult and move on like everyone else on the team. Fitz still loves the guy…

They both were incredible and had amazing playoffs runs to get to a SB.. Boldin just got lucky enough to get a ring.. Enjoy each for who they are individually no real need to compare. Greatness was a plenty for both of them..

I hope to see them both inducted to the HOF one day.. But i felt for Q it would take at least one more 1000 yard season but it doesn't look like thats going to happen. Although he does have the ring in his favor. Only time will tell.

He'd be a lot richer with Fitz's agent, that's for sure. ;) According to sportrac.com, he's made half the money Fitz has made $129,282,500 to $62,240,000.

Also it looks like he made the same money, $22 million, in 3yrs w/ Baltimore as he did 7yrs here. I guess thats what happens when your a 2nd round pick and re do your contract in year 3 instead of hitting FA.

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/anquan-boldin/cash-earnings/

Much of that was where they were drafted. What always bugged me was that the Cards did Q a favor, they redid his contract because he'd earned it. They didn't have to but they did. He'd have made even less money if not for that.

But Fitz made so much more at the top of his deal because he was picked so much higher, Q started way behind. Also, while I love Larry, he hasn't exactly given the Cards a loyalty discount, he has used his leverage perfectly to get more money. Not faulting him just saying in the end they did similar things the Cards just chose to keep Fitz and trade Boldin because they, correctly, assumed Fitz was going to be the right guy to keep.

Trust the cop to make up facts :p He never said he was INSIDE partying and celebrating.

How come he can celebrate outside on the way to his car but Q can't then should be the question?? :)

That's a valid question...to which I'd say it sure doesn't look like someone partying with his teammates. :D

Assumes facts not in evidence.

Facts are we had 'backstage passes' and my wife, being a huge LSU fan, wanted Early Doucet's autograph. I snapped the pic while we were waiting for the players to come out.

The fact that Early turned out to be a bum didn't enter the equation at the time. :D
