I think Somers captured the issue pretty well. This year is Q's swan song. He'll be traded this off-season. His attitude is awful. Sure competitors want to play, but he is ALWAYS hurt these days, and in the last two games he couldn't even run in the second halfs, and it was costing the team. But, of course, Q doesn't see it that way. Kinda like Edge thinking he'd be better off foregoing his $5M a year to play elsewhere (and denigrating the Cardinals in the process...ironically the Cardinals were his one shot at a Super Bowl ring...but that wasn't good enough...the Cardinals dissed him, right?)...these guys just don't see the big picture, and it's a shame.

Couldn't agree more

Boldin is a throwback. He plays football because he loves the game and is an intense competitor. He lives with the same intensity. Since Wiz has no problem with this, I also feel the same way.

I don't know...he has him as inactive for a game...

Maybe Whiz is unhappy with his antics

Or maybe Whiz meant it when he said the field wasn't good and he sat him to avoid further possible injury

Me-Quan has been on a short leash with me since the NFC Championship. THE most important victory in Arizona Cardinals History and he pulls a TO...

Fast-forward to a Arizona Cardinal Historical 4th road-victory in row and he pulls a TO...

It obviously not just Drew as an agent.

Me-Quans route running has gone way down-hill; part injury, part 'tude, and he seems to drop a lot more balls while his reach has shortened. When was the last time he fought through a tackle?

Yea right. Whiz made the decision at such a late time frame that he just couldnt get to Q before he got to the equipment guy and told him to take his stuff out of the locker. Sorry stout not buying it. First person Whiz should seek out and tell is Q not the equipment manager. If Whiz was saying the only reason he didnt want Q playing was field conditions wouldnt it be safe to say that he was leaning toward sitting Q almost the second they stepped on the field 90 minutes prior for early warm-ups?

Oh and by the way he never "whined" to the pre game reporter either. The reporter asked him and he rolled his eyes and kept walking. The pre-game reporter reported that he was clearly annoyed. Nothing more or less.

Nobody is giving a pity party for Q. Everyone of us believe he handled it not the best way that is obvious. But he had a reason to to be upset and the HC did screw up in the way he handled it. That is pretty much a fact!

Okay Shane, you must be right. Whis lied and was actually with Q when he made the decision. Plus, he didn't tell us or Q that he did this, but he secretly told the equipment guy too, before he could find Q.

Either that, or Whis is telling the truth, wasn't with Q when he made his decision, and the equipment manager took the initiative and cleaned out his locker.

Hmm, I wonder what the more likely scenario is?

Now your just being silly. Q doesnt need to be with Whiz when he made the decision or vice versa. But when he makes that decision the first thing he should do is go to Q NOT the equipment manager. End of story.

Thats why other NFL figures and HC's agree Whiz handled it wrong. Thats all nothing more or less.

Q had a right to be upset. Nothing more or less.

Q shouldnt have spouted off in the media. That part he handled wrong. Nothing more or less.

Saying your coach wasn't man enough to tell you something when what you are actually upset about is not being priority #1 is pretty bad, and Boldin's wallet is lucky his coach is Whiz and not Mangini.

-But- it's a comment that's already yesterday's news (two days ago now on the east coast), and it's probably handled. Boldin wants to be on the field and that's where we want him to be, too. Hopefully the decision to make him inactive, regardless of the fallout, means more Boldin over the course of the season.

Mooch and Deion are the last two people I take any advice from.Mooch is the one that got rid of Warner at GB and Rice from Frisco.

Deion is just too much for his own self.Have you seen how he lives?I've seen his crib from top to bottom and what he believes in.

Its a joke that he even has a job with them.He never could stick his head in and make a real tackle when he played and now he's an expert.I saw him play every college game at FSU right here.

Deion is the original me first person.Everyone else is just an immitator.A wannabee.A pure hired gun paid under the table. With a drug history as long as your arm. Then he thought he was a preacher etc...Give me a break. Now he's giving advice to college kids and getting them in trouble and much more.

Mooch is a washed up has been coach. He would'nt know talent if it ran up and bit him.He even knows it.

I think anyone who sides with Q on this should be tied and quartered.

I mean I even gave him the benefit of the doubt after the NFC championship but Q has just gone off the deep end.

Here is the issue. He knows he is getting marginalized everytime we go out there an win without him. Yesterdays out come was the worst case scenario for Q.

We can all put to rest any "All time Cardinal" props for Q. He doesn't care any more to be here and thats really the crux of this issue. He is going to take everything waaaaaaay too personally because of his inner venom and this was just another example of him seeing what he wants to see.

We all thought his primary focus was turning this team to a winner. But that was all talk. Wilson SHOWS that mentality. Q just pays it lip service. He is spitting on the team concept and it is sad especially in two of the highest moments in franchise history (and yes going to Chicago and blowing out the Bears is one of the better moments in recent history) him taking away the attention from the team for some petty BS.

Whether Wiz handled it properly or not I have no idea. But you can't control peoples actions, just your reaction. And Q get a F- for this reaction.

My money has him getting traded this offseason to Miami which is the perfect team for him.

I see a Crowder/Q swap.
Well said...

Okay, since you keep making suppositions that Whis told the equipment manager, which is pure speculation, let's run with it. What is more likely--that Whis specifically sought out the equipment manager after telling the refs and before thinking of Q, or the equipment manager was just the first person he saw after telling the refs as Whis was on his way to find Q?

Again, that is supposing Whis told the manager, which we don't even know. It seems like you just want to stretch anything into blaming Whis in some small way. Bottom line for me (and for most)? Boldin got mad in a spot where he should have gotten a little upset, and handed it worse than a child. Boldin went on to take it out on Whis, who bears no blame for the primadonna getting his ego hurt.

Lost in all of this debate is that even when gimpy Q produces more and bigger plays then Early did this week.

Q needs to sit until his ankle is good to go for an entire game.
Q needs to control his temper enough to not lash out in the media.
Q needs to channel his anger for the next game he does play. Scary for that team.
Q needs to fumble less.

Fans need to stop being bi-polar with their reactions. Trade him tomorrow....Really?

I have mixed thoughts/feelings about Q being traded next year. If he could settle down and realize he can't be "the MAN" on a team with so much talent then keep him.

Q has earned respect from all of us. A couple of tantrums although unfortunate does not undo everything he has done for the Cards.

Whis does, unfortunately, have to keep Q's ego in mind at all times. A very small price to pay for all he has done and will do for us (at least this year).

A great HC knows what motivates his players and that motivation is different for many of them. Q needs his "respect".

I want Q to play out his contract here. I don't want to trade our all-time receiving leader for something like a 5th round pick. I'm not a fan of the way he handles things in the media, but to let it fool us into trading him? Never. There is no addition by subtraction here, Doucet is not Boldin, and even Breaston has missed games.

As long as we get something decent in return I won't mind us trading him. I love the guy, but clearly he's not happy here and we have and are going to have some glaring weaknesses at LB and on the OL.

*sigh* I wasn't going to post on this because I had hoped someone would point out how idiotically stupid they were on Total Access, but I guess I'll have to do it.

WHIS WAS NOT WITH Q WHEN HE MADE THE DECISION. He made the decision literally at the deadline, and handed it to the refs, then went to seek Q. Word had already gotten to the equipment manager (probably trying to do his job well and overheard Whis telling the refs, but we can't know how it happened), who cleaned out his locker. Whis stated he was going to tell Q, and when he did, BEFORE the game, Q wouldn't even look him in the eye.

Damn, but let's stop the pity party for Q. Whis got to him as soon as he could and it just so happened he found out the wrong way. Okay, so he should be upset, and he could have been directly upset with Whis when they talked instead of the 'I won't look at you' pout. What is NOT okay is how he handled it by whining pre-game to the on-field reporter and then whining about it post game.

For the final time, WHIS WAS NOT WITH Q WHEN HE MADE THE DECISION.

Your the one referencing the equipment manager first stout fyi. I just ran with your assumption. Do you honestly feel that the equipment manager is hanging around the coach waiting for his decision? Highly Unlikely. Odds are if "word just got to the equipment manager" as you say it was either by the coach or some other coach either way the first person whiz should have sought out and told was Q that way something like that does not happen.

Great idea. Let's give them both the respect they deserve, root for this team and not worry about either one of them doing their job. This will all eventually be resolved and the important part; the team will continue on regardless of the outcome.

Right, because just before game time the one thing the coach needs to be worried about is tracking down one lone player to cater to their ego. If he's near him or with him, fine, tell him on the spot. Otherwise, tell him when you get a chance, which is exactly what happened. Like I said, the equipment manager could have found out in any of a number of ways; you are choosing to focus on the ONLY way that would look bad for Whis.

Boldin once again got too whiney and went too far in his childishness...can we at least agree on that?

Yup. And...

I trust Whisenhunt to handle all of this drama with the best interests of the team and winning football games in mind. The guy doesn't miss a thing, he's not dumb, and I'm pretty sure he's known more than a few prima donnas in his time. There's always angst when you combine fame, money and big-time egos.

The problem as I see it? Q is a warrior on the field and we love him for it. In the locker room, he's a leader (from everything I've read) and his fellow players love him for that.

Off the field and with a microphone in his face, he's the prototypical Star Wide Receiver, wanting the ball more often, wanting attention, wanting more money.

On a lot of teams, he'd be The Man. Here, somehow, he's become Almost The Man (with LF getting top kudos). That's gotta sting...and leads to less of everything else that he desires.
