Both parties are not in the wrong. It is not up to the HC to cater to fragile WR egos. It is his job to cater to the team. And Wiz never insulted Boldin, But Boldin felt the need he had to.

A long-term veteran like Q should be told face-to-face and not find out via his locker being empty IMO. Whether that is wrong or just an unfortunate accident, it shouldn't happen that way.

I think they will move him in the off season. I agree with Doug that they won't get much in return but I just don't see them keeping him on the roster in 2010. The real bottom line is that they are not going to offer him an extension. The money can be better used for players like Breaston, Dockett and Rolle.

Huh? Boldin is whinning again?? Man, what a surprise...

Look, the guy has more warrior in him than most teams collectively offer. We get that.
I also believe Q believes that this team has the best chance to win when he's in the game (though, I think our W-L record with him out of the game isn't all that bad!).
And, I also believe that Q see's the team do so well, and see's Fitz go off just about every time he's out of the game. Yesterday was another example.
All of that is indeed a huge hit to Q's ego. So, after the game he's steaming and some reporter sticks a mic in his face. You would like to think that Q could man-up, be more like Fitz and others, and simply not address the situation or at minimum, diffuse it... But no... Q can't control his emotions at times like this. He believes he deserves more. He's due more respect.

The bottom line is that Q simply can't accept being second fiddle on this team. His "manhood"... his ego, and his wallet just can't accept it. Which means that Q's days in Arizona are indeed limited and drawing to a close. I just hope we can get something decent in return.

best analysis of the situation I've ever read

This and the NFC Championship incident are making me lose respect for a very good player

I think Q should have been told face to face. It's just a matter of respect for a star veteran but it sounds like it was unintentional. On the other hand, Q should have made his opinion heard privately and not in the press.

Exactly!!! If he wasnt upset I would be pissed. The guy wants to play and believes he is going to make a positive difference. coach made the right call though and my guess is Q will come to that realization on his own. People are over reacting to this big time IMO.

I am sure several people are sick of some of the franchise's best wins being spoiled by a petulant phony.

:lmao:

How was the victory spoiled? Plus there is no denying Whiz handled this completely wrong. Q has an absolute right to be mad. I do agree he should keep it internal but easier said then done when emotions are involved.

The perception around the water cooler today from other team's fans is that Boldin is a malcontent and a prima donna.

What is so dumb about his behavior is that he is ruining any chance of getting big money of any team let alone the Cardinals.

What are people talking about today? A dominant Cardinals win?

Nope they are talking about Boldin. That's what people are asking me about at the office. Same thing after the NFC Championship.

Same thing on the various media outlets. He continues to create drama that overshadows the team's success.

That's been the perception for two years now. All those same fans are saying we'll take him on our team though.

He will get paid. Many a player with worse backgrounds and attitudes than his that have cashed in. His concern as far as money goes is ability to stay healthy.

That's because it is a story. But once again I don't see our victory being spoiled. Most of the national media already believes us to be jeckyl and hide and I'm quite sure our 41-21 victory doesn't mean squat to them.

Not today they aren't.

"I wouldn't want "an always hurt crybaby who gets mad when your team has any success without him" on my team"

Maybe the fans wouldn't be "overreacting" if this kind of thing didn't keep happening over and over again with Boldin.

When did this exact kind of thing happen before?

What was the same? Other than him being upset? Both of which he had an absolute right to be.

The right to be upset is debatable.

The way he is and has acted really isn't.

At this point this whole thing is just a bummer and I'm afraid of how ugly it's going to get. We really dont need this kindof distraction. I'll feel better if Q plays and plays well on Sunday but now I'm worried that he'll sit out as retaliation. I really hope I'm wrong about that.

This is the only story we should be concerned with...

“You know what, that doesn’t concern me at all,” Whisenhunt said. “In fact, that’s kind of what you like to see, because he wants to play. I think we all know how tough and competitive Anquan is, and the fact he was upset he didn’t play is what you would expect. I certainly have no issues with that whatsoever.”

Let put it another way. I consider myself to be a "Star Employee" at my company. What if one of the owners of the company removed me from a project? They remove me and shoot me a memo. I had planned on attending a meeting that day and had organized my schedule for it. Then I get an e-mail saying I am not needed.

Would I be upset? Maybe. Depends on the reason.

Now I go tell me other co-workers "Too bad those guys upstairs weren't man enough to tell me I was removed from the project myself"

What would happen?

Shane why don't you go tell the media that the head of your division isn't man enough to give you direction at your job. See how it goes over.

This is not that much different than Larry Johnson insulting Todd Haley. There is a level of professionalism that you are expected to have at your job and Boldin utterly failed at it on Sunday.

I do find it funny how everyone is so upset that Q got pissed! The guys has always been an emotional player and an extreme competitor. I love it about him personally!
