Doom and gloom for doom and gloom's sake, eh? That's a silly and pessimistic line.

Skelton will start: 17 TDs and 28 interceptions.

He had 11 tds and 14 interceptions last year. I'm not a pessimist, perhaps they can get him to slow down and cut down on the interceptions. Maybe final numbers would be 16 tds and 22 interceptions. That was the numbers that Josh Freeman had last year. Sorry but I'm not going to give him high qb marks this year. Although he has played it would be his first really full starting season. I think he is a work in progress.

Interesting stats on Double Deuce. 2011 Pass Attempts # 21-30: 60.7% completion, 8.1ypa, 5TD 3INT and a QB rating of 93.2. 4th quarter QB rating 89.3.

To me that shows a guy who can figure out what a defense is doing given time. A guy who simply hasn't had enough reps in the NFL to be able to pick up the D right away. Remember it took Eli Manning 5 years before he completed over 60% of his passes in one season and had a QB rating over 80. Give Skelton the ball and the reps and watch us win.

Skelton could likely make a whole season without injury.

More likely than others at least.

Yea true. But he will likely play bad enough for a long enough stretch to be benched.

Dont know where that thinking comes from - he should be better than last year and last year he didnt need to be benched.

If he plays average in the first 3 quarters instead of bad he could be elite based on his closing ability

With this offensive line?? Are you sure about that?

Warner did it and skelton is more built than warner.

Point is, Skelton is not fragile and has a big ben like frame. His likelyhood of injury vs what we are used to in lienarts and kolbs and very low.

I would say he has 20x the chance of going 16 straight games than mr glass

1. Skelton
2. Lindley
3. Veteran waiver wire pickup
Kolb gets cut after Final preseason game.

I heard Rod Graves on Sirius radio. When talking about QBs, he first mentioned Lindley. I wish I remember his exact words...something like "I think you could say we got him a lot lower than we should have. We stole him." Then when he mentioned Skelton and Kolb, he said neither is where they should be, where the Cards expect them to be, or where they themselves expect to be. Given that Kolb has been around for 6 years and Skelton 2 and from Fordham, I take that to mean "goodbye Kolb".

Word on Lindley is that while he makes NFL-caliber throws, he is having trouble with the playbook. And apparently, he doesn't call plays in the huddle real well. It seems like once he gets his head wrapped around the offense, the sky is the limit with this kid.

Skelton. 3500 yards. 18td 14 pick. Manages the games and gets us to 9-7 and a wild card.

A question worth asking is will Kolb last the season out or will health issues end his career? I think there is the possibility that our #3 QB will get more playing time than any of us would have guessed. If Skelton is the starter and gets hurt and Kolb takes over I just do not think he will last 5 games before he is injured. I do not wish that on him but the way he plays makes him subject to injury. When you are trying to avoid injury you often make yourself more subject to injury. All this is now in Kolbs head. Especially the effects of last year's concussions and all the media attention to the long term effects of concussions. I think I read there are over 300 law suits against the NFL for concussion related injuries. These coming from retired players.

My hope is Skelton starts and becomes a real NFL QB. He has all the tools and size. Now can he play at this level?

Kolb will play the 1st half of the Raiders game & his career with the Cardinals hinges on how well he does. I would say that he needs to produce a minimum of 10 pts to stay in the running. He'll need 2 drives that produce points, with one having to be a td. Anything short of that & I also believe that he will be cut & we'll bring in McCoy or Jackson as a backup to Skelton. The Cardinals will not & should not pay him that kind of money to be a 2nd stringer.

Kolb gets hurt before preseason is over and Skelton wins by default. Keeps the job the whole season. 3300 yards. 20 TD 16 INT 58% completion rate, and wins 7 to 9 games. We cut Kolb next year after June 1st to spread his cap hit.

I believe that the team has already made the decision to go with Skelton. That should be a no-brainer at this point, given the stats put up by both Kolb and Skelton thus far.

I then, would hope that Whiz would stop giving snaps to Kolb, that could help Skelton progress. Any more given to Kolb is just wasting time in my opinion. It is no wonder that Skelton has not progressed as far as the staff would wish. But consider this. Skelton has been the recipient of VERY FEW snaps under center these past three years. First, DeWreck got the vast majority of them. Then Kolb got almost all of them last year in pre-season, (what pre-season there was). Now they are getting split by week, with Kolb getting the first week nod, which leaves him with the advantage again. Yet, through all of this, neither has been able to outperform the Skeletor.

I believe that Skelton has earned the right to get ALL the remaining snaps so that we are in the best position possible to enter the regular season. Any more 'competition' is a waste of time and precious snaps, in my opinion. It is time to prepare this team to become a unit for the upcoming season. Stop this dis-jointed and fragmented mentality, as it is only dis-jointing and fragmenting the entire team.

Makes Leinarts 2010 preseason look pretty darn good still. This team looks like it is not ready to take the field? with every QB, near last in all stats on both sides of the ball again,

Kolb needs to outplay Skelton or take a seat on the pine for the rest of trhis season.
I expect we will plug and play Skelton- but we must be patient and let him devolp on the field, take all of him the good and the bad until it is time to make another decision next off season.

I too believe Skelton will be are starter. He played in 9 games last year and even though he started many slow his record stands, as does his abilty under pressure after just two years of pro ball. Kolb will be number two unless they pick up one of the guys who are released. We wont trade for anyone only a release. Lindley will make up the three some.

All he does is win. Imagine if he got 100% if the training
Skelton guides the team to 9-10 wins,
3500 yards 21 td 14 int.

Playoffs.

Except as much as Warner got abused when holding onto the ball too long, he had a quick release on the ball the rest of the time. From what I have seen out of Skelton that doesn't appear to be the case. He is going to get abused twice as much possibly this season.

Man I hope not though...this line truly scares me.

Skelton wins job. Assuming he stays healthy all year... 22 Tds, 18 ints, 3,400 yards.

I think there is more than a decent chance the Kolb is cut before the season starts. He is just so putrid and has no heart at all. I would certainly cut him and elevate Lindley to 2nd string.
